He is the same player as last season but he’s not got a Souza Davis Choudray to help him out
V Southampton he was decent breaking play up couple of good forward passes first half and then disappeared when Tom Davis went off

If you look at the video that was posted of Wilder coming back, he and Peck embraced like a father and son. There’s the problem. Wilder will keep playing him even if he’s struggling (cf Lundstraam, McBurnie, Robinson, Cannon et al) because he can’t see beyond his blinkers. I feel sorry for the lad, great potential but he’s going backwards atm and needs resting. As shown in the play off final he’s not ready for a starting place yet.
 
I was at the U21 match tonight … came for about 15 minutes….

Against a very poor Andorra 🇦🇩

Neat and tidy in possession and kept the ball moving

what struck me was how much he demands the ball … he always wants it … he doesn’t do anything breath taking but he’s always in pickets of space wanting the ball.

Took a free kick which I find highly unusual … it was shocking (he fell over)

But when he came on he made the rest of the team look like statues. He was the only one trying to make something happen. Unfortunately the other players had premiership-itis. Playing tippy tappy and achieving fuck all.

..but he didn’t make anything happen. That seems to be his problem with us.
Last season he did press forward from time to time and made some good forward passes. He either lacks confidence in his own ability or in those behind him if he goes forwards or BOTH !

We all love Gus, but he’s obviously playing within himself. Yes the team have to play their part and bring him into the game more. But when he does get on the ball he usually runs into traffic and gives up possession too easily.

He's that kind of player, receive the ball, move it on and find more space to collect the ball again, and he does it well.

He's been asked to play a completely different role this season, and he also doesn't have the same quality around him as he does for England. He's not a defensive midfielder is he. Id he can add goals to his game he could be a really good player.

Bit harsh on Peck.

Once again he had the most accurate passes and touches of our team - that stat has been most weeks as well.

He's not had a regular midfield partner either

You dont play for England u21's as well without a good reason for it.

Everyone entitled to their own opinions, but that seems a bit OTT.
 
For christ sake get of the lads back and maybe some of our other players the only one today who was not upto it was Barry.
The guy who sits behind me talks utter bollocks all the way through the game.He has is favourites who can do no wrong poor pass puts it down to unlucky.
The corner that was put right over the top in the first half to the back post he came out with shocking when the ball was in the air.He shut up when our player got his head to it and made there keeper make a save.
Some fans eh
 
One of the rules of S2 fandom is youngsters who come through our academy actually get the worst stick and the least appreciation.

The lads only just turned 21, if he comes out the other side of the chaos of the start of this season he ought to get immense credit.

Edit - our youngest starter again today BTW

The number of players who've played for England U21s who have never amounted to anything is endless.

The only good thing Peck has still got going for him is that he's young and still has time to improve.

Athe the minute he's useless.

Not sure you watched today's match Nuddy, cos from where I sat he had by far the best game he's had all season. He was by far our best midfielder and that's on a day where I also thought Soumare was pretty decent.

7/10 far from useless you are blindsiding him with poor previous efforts but today the only player that I wouldsay was useless was Barry.
