We look a different team to last season

There was plenty to criticise in that first half performance but many in Shoutbox had us relegated, dropping half the team, etc. Have some faith in this team and this manager, they’ve earned it.
Can’t believe the Shoutbox is still full. I thought their wrists had been slashed long ago.

Now I know it's a league above and all that blah blah..

But our style of play is totally different, we go from having a corner to being back to our keeper within 3 passes, then the hendo boots it up but all our players are on halfway resulting in the opposition winning the ball back.

This has been a theme in all games this season I've noticed, which is disappointing because were good enough to play and compete but it's like were choosing not to, and being far too cautious.
that dig has backfired aint it
oh ye of fuck all faith

Did someone really use Norwich playing the same way as last season as an argument against how we're playing?...

Why? You were correct. I know it will get ignored because of the result but we have been poor for large chunks of the games from the start. Playing it long when we’re clearly bad at it. Then we decide to try it our old way and we’re suddenly a good team. They need to wake up and start the games our way.

This. Things are good now, if we can resolve this who knows how good we could be?

That's up to you I wouldn't personally but if you were happy with that first half then great stuff
Don't have to be happy with the first half to know that games actually consist of TWO halves
(and CW/AK usually manage to recognise and react to difficulties)

Natural that players will be nervy against top 6. But games are also 90 mins... what a performance second half after giving two soft goals

This has happened 4 times now and cost us points against Leicester and could have today and if that trend carried on we would go down

If you are pretending you knew that we would get a draw at half time you're lying

Being fair to the OP we were really poor that first half.

But what a turn around.
We weren’t great, but made two really poor errors and then didn’t recover. We were punch drunk after their second. We’d lost belief. Who goes two down at a top 6 club and comes back?

Bring on the wilder halftime chat...

Funnily enough, I’ve been at the match today and afterwards when someone mentioned that all the brain dead halfwits had been in meltdown, I was fairly sure that one of them would be the same clown who saw fit to label last seasons promotion winning squad bottlejobs with three weeks to go, when they needed encouragement, not ripping to bits.

How is your Securely Live media conglomerate coming on nowadays?

If it wasn't for all the whingeing pessimists, optimists wouldn't have such a good laugh and a good life (longer too as is proven) so please leave the poor saps alone!!

We were playing at Stamford Bridge in our first season back in the Prem for fucks sake - how can people be so negative after 45 mins of average play?
I decided long ago that some Blades just aren’t happy unless they’ve got something to moan about. A player or two to slam and tactics to criticise and they come alive like like Mayflies in the spring.

My guess is that deep down despite the good result, they’re still feeling a bit miffed right now because a combination of Robbo and the bloody Moose has robbed them of a good night’s slagging :D

Starting to think Billy should start, not sure what Robinson offers.

Ffs.

However, there are still too many moments in which we need him to show more bravery. Also thought Freeman was poor going forwards today. Mousset looks promising, more direct.

No one is saying that. And there was a lot to criticise in the first half. But predicting relegation as nailed on, calling for certain players to be dropped or even sold, and even questioning whether Wilder had wasted the transfer money this summer is a massive overreaction after 3.5 games and will rightly be called out.

WTF is all this just stop and be happy we are in the Prem FFS

This. We weren't particularly good but we weren't terrible by any stretch. We were undone by another two individual errors.

Lesson from today is same as the previous games though. We ought to be more confident than we are. Indecision and nervousness cost us and players are going back to the keeper instead of being brave and playing the forward pass. We got forced long too often and that's never going to suit us. But fuck me, we weren't expected to get anything from that game and same as we laugh at sides for saying they played poorly when we beat them, you have to give teams like Chelsea credit and say they press well and are hard to play through.

The team that started that game has very little Premier League experience, never mind away from home against a team that finished top six last year. If it takes the players and manager a few games to gain some confidence to get up to our best then so be it. Panicking because you're losing at half-time at Stamford Bridge is beyond daft.

You see H, I’ve just watched the full 90 minutes and I don’t think that we were really poor mate. We made a couple of poor individual errors that cost us goals and can’t be legislated for but take that out of the game and I thought we did ok. Not as good as in the second half but we competed and passed it ok. I didn’t watch it live but going on some of the comments on Shoutbox, thought it would be backs to the wall with Chelsea all over us for 45 minutes and that just wasn’t the case. (IMO)

No it wasn’t, but I was more making the point we didn't impose out way of play on the game like we did in the second half, I feel against this Chelsea side we could have done

I said it in the chatbox, Ill noe say it here.

Henderson is overrated. We need to splash the cash for a quality keeper in Jan.

At fault for 1st, weak handed for 2nd, poor distribution, beat at nearpost last week. Not good enough.
We've got one sat on the bench

We weren't poor by any stretch. Just gave them far too much respect first half.
