We look a different team to last season

Hardly a knee jerk reaction posting the day after the game and analysing the full match before posting.

Does this mean I don't care about the club ?
Think it just means you think you're the only allowed to make wildly emotional statements at a time of your choosing

This comparison with Norwich is fun.

If they lost 7 0 yesterday they'd have been fortunate.

exactly it's only people sounding off because they care about the club
Some comments were ott but from game one we've started cautiously and we seem to be getting more and more cautious to the point where yesterday it seemed like a breaking point

Breaking point?

Breaking point comes when you are getting soundly beaten on a cold wet night in Bury that all but consigns you to another season in League One
Breaking point come when you throw a 2 goal lead away against a piss poor Scunthorpe United side at Glanford Park that makes relegation a certainty
Breaking point comes when you don't even manage to muster a shot on target at home to Crewe Alexandra
Breaking point comes when you meekly go crashing out of the Johnstones Paint Trophy at home to Hartlepool United in the first round.
Breaking point DOES NOT come when you are unlucky to be 2 down at half time against Chelsea in the Premier League

Thankfully there wasn't anyone at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon who reached breaking point at 3.45 yesterday afternoon. Indeed after half time the players came out to a tremendous atmosphere and it was the backing of the fans who spurred the Blades to come out and score a goal early on in the second half.

It was only the brain dead, half witted, empty vessels who make the most noise who reached breaking point behind their computer screens at half time yesterday.

Yeah we all know you were at the game you've mentioned in every post but I was referring to what a great second half turnaround it was compared to how it could have affected the team if they had lost a second game running because of a well under par first half

Glad you enjoyed the game

I’m glad I enjoyed it as well.

I don’t recall a well under par first half though, as I remember it we played really well, and just got undone by a couple of mistakes and certainly wasn’t outclassed and well under par as you put it.

I can only have sympathy with the bed wetting, feet stamping, tantrum throwers who got pushed to breaking point yesterday by what they consider to be a first half that was well under par.

Embarrassing. Deeply embarrassing.

Noise and Nonsense from Numpties.

Why? You were correct. I know it will get ignored because of the result but we have been poor for large chunks of the games from the start. Playing it long when we’re clearly bad at it. Then we decide to try it our old way and we’re suddenly a good team. They need to wake up and start the games our way.
I think I'm going to let Chris make the decisions! I reckon the idea is to be defensive in the first half, try and keep it to nil nil and then go for it the second. Yesterday two mistakes meant they were leading by two goals at half time very luckily. And we had missed a sitter. Whatever the situation, however we played, however many players they were missing, a point at Stamford Bridge in the manner of it, was pretty impressive.

There's so much knee jerk-ism going on it's as if all you need to do is make a single mistake and your career is well and truly over. Whatever anyone thinks of Henderson he's cut from different cloth to Simon Moore, but I guess the superb second-half save that Henderson made from Abraham isn't to be considered as having any worth. What matters appears to be the the error that Henderson made in the first half, not any other factor that contributed to the great result we achieved yesterday.

Some posters appear intent on castigating a player, any player, without consideration for how they've played over several games. Those posters who stomped their feet at Lundstram's inclusion at Bournemouth have adopted a revisionist approach to Lunny since that first game. Not that it matters, the judgement of our manager is all that matters. And just for added emphasis, that's not deifying our manager, it's a factual approach to healthy criticism, not a slavish desire to crucify or praise.

Actually Chris has made it clear it was not his decision to set out negatively in games. It’s the players lack of confidence in themselves.

I think there's a difference between starting a bit more defensively and being negative.

Is it defensive to immediately give the ball back to the opposition from the back? That’s not how we earned our clean sheets last season.

I did fear about how you would react when you saw the tantrum throwers had reached breaking point at half time.

I didn’t mate. I learned about it later. Still don’t know which knees were a jerkin’. My approach on Saturday Shoutbox during games is to let the lunatics have the run of asylum. I simply ensure that the stationery cupboard is well stocked with crayons. I will have to review that, though and will consider economic sanctions if behaviour does not improve.

Fortunately I’m an infrequent visitor to Shoutbox when matches are in progress due to the fact I’ll either be enjoying and appreciating the beautiful majesty of tuftyball in all its glory.

I was fortunately enough 3 years ago to be able to be automatically enrolled on a footballing rehabilitation course conducted by Mr Wilder and Mr Knill and ably supported by their merry band of willing helpers, and I’ve not been able to look at a single crayon since
