Some people are going to look very stupid if we don't do it, it's far from over. If Leeds can lose two apparently easy games it might just happen to us as well.

Hold your fire till it's confirmed.

Booooooo! Servile, "like-whore" Bert clearly has a bad dose of Bladey Inferiority Complex*

*He's dead right, though.

I see what you're saying, but if you can't get excited by the prospect of being all but promoted by beating the worst team in the division at home, regardless of what anyone else does, then I don't know when you can.

UTB

When we’ve actually beaten them because this is Sheffield United we’re talking about

We are in a great position but need to finish the job. A fast tempo and no stupid fouls leading to red cards are key for me. We are clearly the better team but need to show it.

I was just thinking the same thing whilst musing over the weekend events. The Leeds results were very unpredictable and I think it unwise to count too many chickens - but it is a good position to be in! Before the Forest game I thought that if both Leeds and ourselves won all our remaining games - well done to them, but the boots on the other foot now.

It only takes a bit of carelessness or bad luck to lose a point or two. Leeds were well beaten yesterday but if they had been given the penalty they should have had in the first half who knows what the final result would have been? A ref's mistake is always a possibility and Oh My God We've Lost. If both sides play their best we should beat Ipswich OK but crazy things happen. Let's party after the match rather than in advance.

Totally agree, I’m the eternal optimist and I actually believed that Leeds would lose yesterday BUT, we should all be respectful of the opposition and mindful of past instances where we’ve snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
We’re gonna do it this time I dirmly believe that but all this ‘who shall we sign for the PL and cheap PL season tkts etc’ is tempting fate and we’ve all seen how that can bite us in the arse.

Patience......

I know, I know, we've still got work to do and the win won't just be given to us.

Plenty of people have said it and nobody's forgotten.

Why can I not be confident about this side though? There's players in this squad that have already proven to me repeatedly that they can rise to a big game. There's a down to Earth manager who knows what it takes to get promoted.

I might go on to look an idiot but please just let me have the occasional opportunity to believe in my team.

I'm glad someones finally put this, lets calm down...not get nervous (the 20 pints we all have pre game should assist wit this) and get right behind the players on Saturday. Its in our hands.

Not counting any chickens, but these players have just got a second wind, we are now the form team of the top three, I think they’ll be ruthless now..

It’s fine advising caution, I just see a brilliant chance, and our team taking it..

You're right

The time for celebrating is after the job is done, not before

5 points clear, 2 games in hand and mind the gap, ought to be a reminder to keep a low key

I was going to post the same thing. It's all very well being excited and dreaming of going up, but some recent posts have been a week, or rather 3 points, too early.
Keep your powder dry, chaps.

Agreed as we all know the Blades are previous winners of the FIUFL (**** it up Football League) having previously won it in 2012 when of course it should have gone to Sheffield W*******y. The key thing is to focus on stuffing Ipswich. If Blackburn do us a favour and get a point at Norwich we might even win the darn thing yet.

We do have a massive goal difference advantage over Leeds. Beat Ipswich and we are up.

I’m as excited as a kid at Christmas, but... If we fail against Ipswich then Leeds get a huge boost - they know that if they beat Villa they become favourites again. All their negativity lifts.

It really is not done.

If we lose against Ipswich and Leeds beat Villa then we are still favourites for promotion.

If we beat Stoke then Leeds would need to beat Ipswich by about 9 goals, not going to happen.
So even if we lose to Ipswich we are still favourites for the auto’s.

Also you can bet that Wilder will have learnt from Leeds home defeat to Wigan, there is no way he will under estimate Ipswich and he’ll have the players prepared. We just need to keep our eyes on the prize and not get complacent.

Oi!

Think up your own handle. ;)

Spot on Bert. We’ve had enough of looking stupid for this season and that’s only me. o_O

I would need to see the bookies odds for Leeds getting a better result at Portman Road than we get at Stoke. But I’m crap at betting probabilities in truth.

We couldn't have an easier tie, that actually makes me nervous. Just hope we play like we usually do and we should be fine.
