united charging £41 for a ticket in the south stand against Watford , how can they justify that, when they are only charging £25 on Saturday for Charlton game

Rhian Brewster is playing*, it’s worth the entry price for that alone.united charging £41 for a ticket in the south stand against Watford , how can they justify that, when they are only charging £25 on Saturday for Charlton game

* he probably won’t be because he’ll be injured but wonders never cease.

Ha, I read the OP’s name and got confusedHe probably won't be because he signed for Derby.
Southampton game is Cat B and cheaper. I would have thought this was a more attractive game than Watford.
I think the problem is the club has to have a decent differential between season ticket prices per game and pay on the day. However there has to be a middle ground and to expect people to pay 41 quid to watch a lower half of the championship game against a nothing side is ridiculous.I know this is not just a United issue and is across the 92, but surely we make more money by selling tickets at £25 than £41.
Realistically, how many POTD tickets are we going to sell when it's going to be over £120 for a family of 4 to attend against Watford?
Is that accepted wisdom true anymore?I think the problem is the club has to have a decent differential between season ticket prices per game and pay on the day. ...and he is injuredHe probably won't be because he signed for Derby.
No league game at any level should be £41. However nobody in football gives a toss about getting it under control so here we are.united charging £41 for a ticket in the south stand against Watford , how can they justify that, when they are only charging £25 on Saturday for Charlton game
Or more accurately, he's currently injured for DerbyHe probably won't be because he signed for Derby.
I know this is not just a United issue and is across the 92, but surely we make more money by selling tickets at £25 than £41.

You’d think that but the evidence continuously shows this is untrue.
When the club decreases prices by £5 or even £10 against less attractive opposition, the attendance hardly increases.
However when we increases prices by £5 against attractive opposition, we still always have an above average gate.
The subject of ticketing is an area where our owners are massively more educated that any fan.
They will have studied all the data, spreadsheets and will have their finger on the pulse regards increasing revenue.
They might not know much about football but they are experts and highly successful when it comes to business.
The data continuously shows that pricing doesn’t have as much effect on the gate compared to the quality/ reputation of the opposition.
It’s the same at Sheff Wed, their fans complain about the prices but when ever they are reduced to £15 for a night match against unattractive opposition it’s still a below average attendance and whenever they charge rip-off prices for big matches they still get one of their biggest crowds of the season.
I sit with a few on the Kop and at the end of the season we all talk about whether we should renew our season ticket or not.
Personally I’d prefer to pay on a match by match basis but I’ve compared the match day prices to season ticket prices
And even if I miss about 6 matches a season it’s still financially better to renew your season ticket. So it becomes a no brainer to renew your season ticket.
I know this is not just a United issue and is across the 92, but surely we make more money by selling tickets at £25 than £41.

That's crazy pricing if you ask me, but if people will pay it.......I know this is not just a United issue and is across the 92, but surely we make more money by selling tickets at £25 than £41.

As has "been proved in the past", I have little idea of how this grief thing at football works. But, really, are there really people out there who will specifically attend a Sheffield United football match because it is an anniversary of a grief event. If so, I find that astonishing. The Anniversary of George Baldockpassing is Thursday October 9th. Watford is the First Home game after this , so maybe the club are thinking , charge ££££ as supporters will want to go to this game. ?
