By the looks of the BBC preview for the match we have no chance at all.
But hey, the BBC have Lawro as a pundit so thats there opinion out the window IMO.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/6201524.stm

I think if we stick to what we've done in the last 3 games we can win this one, Def start for Squinny after his performance against Charlton, I hope.

It's all very well the Beeb quoting past stats - Villa have won all four of the Premiership encounters between the sides - but when were they played?
Was it last week, last month, last season, or more then twelve years ago? What a set of tossers. Why not trot out the statistic that Real Madrid have never beaten us in a European match? Or that Ronaldinho has never scored against us in a competetive game? All true, but meaningless bollocks, like most of the stats the Beeb bring out.

Phew. Rant over.:D

Having said which, lawro does have us down as a home win on his predictions. I think thats a first from him. And to actually score he must be unwell

Lawrenson couldn't predict the winner of a one horse race, the man is a complete joke.

I'm hopeful that we can get a point out of this game, Barry missing out is a massive bonus but from what i have heard we need to be mindful of petrov.

My prediction is a good old 1-1 with Hulse to score first for us.

Up the blades

Petrovs a good player
always rated him at Celtic.

i don't listen to any predictions they say cos there shit and i don't believe. i think we can get at least a point and should play with a 4-4-2 system with webber and hulse up front and kazim-richards down left

Top quality player. Greatest thing Barnes ever did for us. Knew he could do the job in the Premiership. Gutted that hes gone :(

But anyways me thinks it's gonna be 1-1. Very tough team to beat and me thinks a draw will be the fair result.

Lawro got our win against Charlton last Saturday in the Sun spot on, a 2-1 win. For once he was right, so let's hope he's right again.

i think the team should be as follows:
kenny, geary, morgan, bromby, kozzy, keeef, jags, leggywood, ginner quinn, hulse and anyone but nade sorry but he cant finish sorry just my opinion, still with this team, an early prezzie is likely COME ON

if he keeps getting the chances, he's bound to finsish one everntually. I think he looks a good prospect, he can beat the defender and get into good positions.

He's started Twice for us in the prem and has scored once in the Cup (and it was a class finish), are you expecting miracles?
He's not even 21 yet and can def play football, the goals will come.

It was more said tongue in cheek more than anything.
So far in the games he has started he has troubled defences, but his finishing has been poor. So let's hope once he does manage to get a league goal it will open the floodgates.

Anyways, if the rain carries on like it is, i can see game being called off.

Sky wouldn't alow it.
Did you see when Newcastle played earlier this season in apitch resembling a pond? That was cos Newcastle needed the Sky money from what I understand.

If the ref deems it unplayable then there is nothing sky can do.

Tonight's team:

Kenny
Kozluk Morgan Bromby Geary
Keef Monty Jagielka Squinny
Webber Hulse

MOTM v. Aston Villa

You know the deal... who was your Man of the Match?

Squinny's goal deserved to be a winner and he was the only player trying to get the ball down.

Why oh why did they keep booting it in the air against such big players and a referee who was hardly helpful? It was never going to work.

The player I was most disappointed with today was Webber. Fair enough he didn't really get the service but his first touch was shocking when he did and how many men does he think he has to take on before he releases the ball? Can't fault his goal but today could have been a match he really impressed in... running at the defence with the pace we know he has.

Oh well... pleased with a point after their first goal and the way we played throughout the first half.

Squinny MOTM, kozzy, geary and keef all played well.

Bromby, jagielka and Webber were awful, but sorry, Montgomery has got to be one of the worst Central midfielders to ever grace the premier league. I feel sorry for the lad, he needs to be put out his misery in january. The same goes for jags, get him back at CB in place of Bromby.

Great 2nd half, should have won.

Look out for the ballboy on Soccer AM :D

His fellow BBs were pissing themselves at him but he was lapping up the attention of the visiting fans :D

What a plantpot! :D

HaHaHa.....

Who voted for Danny Webber???

He got a poachers goal but come on......did you watch the match???

Totally agree apart from webber i thought he looked sharp better than Nade plus webber bagged a goal.

Monty must go in january he made it look like we had 3 in mdifield rather than 4. Bromby needs to be moved out to RB and jags needs to get back in that defence alongside Davis.

Great match although we should of won some sloppy defending cost us tonight.
