Depends if you have financial backing , certainly massages the step up . Big club , massive club , sleeping giant doesn't help but doesn't hinder in the Championship.

I would like to get there first and then wait for the fixtures list .

UTB

It's a huge step up. Half the clubs are owned by backers with capital that makes Kev's fortune look like loose change.

Well in fairness we usually competed in the Championship and usually had a high wage bill. It was only down to poor managerial decisions why we went south. It wasn't because the managers weren't backed financially. Besides who's to say we won't see the princes money? Let's just wait and see.

I don't disagree with that, but in the last two or three years the Champ has changed massively. Huge amount of money up there now.

Their certainly is but the standard is no different. Warnock was a motivator and we succeeded under him eventually. Wilder sort of reminds me of him with his passion the only difference is for me is that the quality of football is better. Wilder has reduced the wage bill by all accounts and we're miles better for it. Proof that money isn't everything. We're going places with him mark my words. UTB!!

The view from the sty , looking at one end of an uncertified death trap ,
to the other end of an uncertified death trap ,
Must admit it was great to see them sell out last week , all 39,000 , sorry less than 31k .
Whar the fuck is all that about ?
We Almost Won At Wembley , wankers .

Ah and don't forget their sole Xmas holiday home match agaisnt Wolves was a HALF PRICE ticket offer.

Wednesday only ever break 30K when it's a either a last match of the season to clinch promotion
Or a cut price cheap ticket offer.

Can't wait to play them but some of them are $hitting emselves at the thought of playing us.
Wonder why?

The fact that the thread is there in the first place tells you everything you need to know
They are worried
They know that if we go up the most important statistic of all as far as they are concerned will be challenged
The thread is over 280 pages long, and that's only from end of last season. I've noticed a bit of concern creeping into it recently

Since we were in the Championship the system of parachute payments has changed. I think when we were relegated from the PL we got £11 mill for 2 years. The payments now last 4 years and are a lot more. Anyone know how much? Plus as Rodley says a number of clubs have rich backers. So there is a lot more money around in that league. However as we know from our own experience just because you have the biggest wage/transfer budget does not guatantee success. The most important thing is a really good manager. Thankfully we have one and with A good manager a club can still do really well without having a huge budget. Barnsley are a good example of this currently. Equally clubs with parachute payments have been relegated.
It looks to me as if Wendy are getting themselves in a mess signing some mediocre, injury prone players on huge salaries (reportedly some players on £40k pw). Do they have a really good manager? I don't know. Time will tell.
If we get promoted I am confident that whatever budget CW gets it will be enough to ensure that we are more than competitive.

promoted teams from league one are struggling more now than a few years back

In general they seem to be, but Barnsley aren't exactly finding it impossible.

Like others have said, let's get there first before we piss our pants.

It is funny to see the pigs and their hand wringing though.
"Wait until they play Southend, they've not played anyone on form yet."

O

If we played the pigs tomorrow we'd annihilate them. Absolutely smash them.
They've got 11 Individuals. We've got a team. It'd be slaughter.
Was talking to my neighbour (whose a pig) and he said the same, kick Forestieri, get in the teams face and attack them and the current Wednesday side would crumble (his words, not mine).

Plenty of time for a collapse yet.

They will miss out on the top 2,

At least we'll be in the top 2. Last season, the pigs finished 6th - fifteen fucking points behind second-placed Middlesbrogh.

then bottle the play-offs like they always do.

Remind me again...

But '1963owl' says:

its a 4 point start for us if we are in the same division

Like most deluded pigs, the last time they went to the rust bucket was when Albert Fucking Quixall was playing and it was 2 points for a win.

Cunts.

Our squad would need seriously strengthening next season as I don't think it's championship standard but then again it's not exactly an outstanding squad at league one level

Most of the players looked like lost souls last season and if we are honest the sole reason we are top and in with a shout of being in the division absorbent season is the manager

Think we have a real gem with wilder and we could got all the way but we just don't know

Me too, there's too much bloody positivity on here. One game at a time. I dreamed last night we lost 3-0 next Saturday, but the weird thing was, it was nil nil at 90 minutes and they scored in extra time to win 3-0. It's a long time since the Blades have been on my mind so much.

Derby day next season(hopefully !)

CW Delivering his pre match team talk or their caricature of a manager ??

Hmmm, who do I back ????

call us poor
17 LONG YEARS they've been selling prem return season tickets
and only 1 failed attempt to get even close

as for easy points over us
1 double in the last 100 years, hardly massive

Dig: They'll bottle it, they always do.

Layer of defence: If they do go up the Championship is much stronger now, they won't have a chance.

Covering their back for a few months!

Any pig under about 25 years of age will have no recollection of ever seeing them playing in the Premiership. That's the whole of the present generation of their fan-base when you break it down. Fucking losers.

First of all

Fuck Wednesday!

2nd of all, I needed to go and wash my eyes after a quick view of pork scum writing on a pork based web site (with added filth).

3rd, I think some of their more level headed fans (only one or two in existence) know that a derby game against the Blades will be totally different with Chris Wilder in charge, he will have the lads revved up like never before, and if anyone will be really up for it, it will be Captain Billy "born and bred a Blade" Sharp.
The scum won't know what's hit them.

And our poor fans will have to go to that absolute shit house of a rust bucket ground again, the only ground in the country where you have to wipe your feet on the way out.

Fuck Wednesday!

The 2nd and last line of your post are purely poetic. Have a like my friend, have a like.

Thanks Jordo, although to be fair, I wasn't the first to use that phrase, I think it was the poet, Keats, or maybe it was Shelley, who first used it in his famous book of poems

"Romance, a love of the English countryside, and the fucking scum of S6"

That much flapping on that thread, Pigs might actually fly.

They desperately need to believe, and think repeating the same shit to each other. They're circling their wagons. It'll be back to just attendances soon.

Odd though, they claim its us that's obsessed with them :)
