So one is Waghorn and the other is a number 10.

2 players away? Our squad feels pretty small considering we haven’t filled 11 players for any pre season game

Perhaps one for the unpopular opinions thread but I'm slightly disappointed by the Moore contract news. We had an opportunity to cash in on a player who's not quite good enough but have instead now got him for another two years, most likely on increased wages.

He's a very good number two though. If we'd sold him now it would have added unnecessary complications to our recruitment drive.

Think the money we'd have got for him...would we have got a replacement willing to play number 2?

Eastwood is more than competent as a #2 and should anything have happened to Henderson we'd have qualified for an emergency loan.

Eastwood being a number 2 at his age means he's not getting any action. Not great imo.

Wilder said nobody had made an offer for Moore didn't he? I'm not sure how we could cash in if that was the case

What kind of moomin thinks it would be a good idea to flog the No2 keeper and leave us a man short? it would add pressure to find a replacement in the transfer window and distract from what we actually need

2 more players for now.

Good chance of 1 more on loan before the end of August.

That's what I think.

Im inclined to agree, reckon we will get 2 more permanents in, then when window closes, get some meat in on loan to bulk it up a bit.

Just because the offer is still on the table for Waghorn it doesn't mean it's to go along side the new bid we've put in for the second player.
It could still be one or the other.

Good news that Moore is staying.

It ensures two reliable, decent keepers next season and ensures we won't lose him for free next summer.

I expect he might move on next summer, but we'll get at least 500k for him now.

Pay attention.... One of the players was telling fans in Portugal that he was off..... I read it on here.......

.... which could have absolutely appeared to be the case at the time.

I think one permanent (striker), one loan (attacking mid), then a likely additional loan by the end of August (LWB or striker).

It says it all that you know it’s an unpopular decision before posting.

It’s amazing some fans think we will bring in a new LWB when CW for the past several weeks has stated very clearly what he is after.

Given some of the shite that's posted on here every day, I'd say an unpopular opinion has every chance of being a good one.

It's refreshing to see something referred to as an opinion anyway, so many posts talk about utterly subjective stuff with no right or wrong answer as if it's indisputable fact.

You don't need an offer for there to have been interest. I'm fairly certain that Moore was sounded out by West Brom - otherwise why would we have brought forward the contact talks?

Eastwood going out on loan hasn't been mentioned at all so I'd argue that he's even further away as a #3 goalkeeper. As for action - have you seen his other half?! He'd be mad not to :)

Unpopular ≠ wrong. I don't think Moore is good enough and I've been pretty consistent in that view. I'll accept that he's a confident, communicative goalkeeper but he frequently loses the ball in the air (cf goals scored by Jamie Paterson for Bristol City and Kamil Grosicki for Hull City at the Lane last season) and his positioning for freekicks is at best questionable.

There might have been interest from several clubs but if nobody places an actual offer you can't 'cash in' on him

If Moore is that bad how come he is worth around half a million, not saying you have said he is but we paid around that and I dont feel he is any worse/better now.

I'm not at all comfortable with Eastwood, even as reserve. Moore is decent at Championship.
