Just got home after another pleasant Airbnb overnight stay at Hunters Bar – only the football spoiled it!

Against Boro, he waits until we’re 2 down to bring on our best midfield – last night he waits until we’re losing to bring on Jairo – who then completely bosses midfield. If he’d at least brought him on when we went ahead it might have made some sense – but that’s all in the past now.

Our pathways to the Playoffs are rapidly becoming overgrown and impenetrable - for 2 reasons really. Firstly, we’re dropping points that we can’t afford to, and secondly, Wrexham and Southampton look like setting a more challenging target. My 71-point “Playoffs Possible” target now seems to be improbably low. Having gone through all the fixtures after this week’s results, I reckon Southampton and/or Wrexham will probably get about 74 points. As we have now dropped another point from my “Playoffs Probable” pathway, that set of future results would now achieve 75 points (originally 77 points) – so that is probably our last hope, and is all that I will compare with from now on – I’ll rename it Playoff Dream!

Table 1 shows Playoff Dream for the last 18 games, which would originally have achieved 77 points but has now been modified to deliver the new target of 75 points.
The Table shows that the red numbers have been rebased for the modified target.

In reality, the dream is fading fast, and it will only take 1 or 2 more results before I wake up!
Then we can use the rest of the season to start preparing for next year, rather than worrying about this year’s results!

Finally, the coloured annotated League Table – back to16th, and 9 points behind 6th again!
Our results against the Top 9 compared to those against the Bottom 15 pretty much sums up this season!

So, QPR next – and an almost compulsory win if we are not to close down the dream and accept the inevitable reality!

But where there’s life there’s hope - after all, 4 years ago all of the “experts” said that Ukraine wouldn’t last a week!

Not as positive as usual, but still trying to keep our heads up!

Actually, I agree with your point about Jairo needing to be on sooner - our whole style improved when he came on again.

A question for anyone with data (Coolblade ?) -
How many minutes has Jairo been on the field and how many goals have we conceded while he has been on the field? He just seems to rule that space in front of the back 4, and all the panic disappears.
