I didn't feel bad for him.

He's getting paid fortunes to be shit at football. Infact not even shit, just to be a passenger.

Ryan One and Jevan Beattie are so raw and absolutely not ready for Championship football, but god almighty they have to be better than him by virtue of the defenders needing to at least have their kit washed after.
One created very good chances at home to Millwall and away at Boro - something we've barely done in any games this season.
He also had game time last season.
He clearly is ready for a squad place at our level and streets ahead of Cannon.

I have zero sympathy for Cannon. If he's getting that sort of reaction when he comes on then it's entirely down to him to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and change some minds. However, he comes across as spineless, poor technically and a bit dim. That's a toxic combination.

Actually... is the #7 shirt cursed? Since squad numbers were introduced in the second tier, before Cannon it was worn by Rhian Brewster (21/22 to 24/25), John Lundstram (17/18 to 20/21), Marc McNulty (16/17), Ryan Flynn (12/13 to 15/16), Will Hoskins & Nathaniel Mendez-Liang (11/12), Darius Henderson (08/09-11/12), Luton Shelton (06/07 to 07/08), Paul Ifill (05/06), Andy Liddell (03/04-04/05), Paul Shaw (01/02-03/04) and Michael Brown (00/01-03/04). Only Brown, Ifill and to an extent Flynn were any good for us. The rest veer between bang average, grossly overpaid and genuinely dislikeable...or all three (hello Darius Hendercunt).

Perhaps we jinx ourselves by frequently giving players who aren't right wingers the 7 shirt?

Don't think he's the type to respond to criticism, seems more like an 'arm round the shoulder' guy, make of that what you will.

Have to disagree on a good few names you've mentioned, Lundstrum, the twat that he was, had a blinding start to the Premier League. I actually quite liked Henderson when he played for us. I think he's one of those you hate if he's against you, he always put in a shift for us. Lastly, Andy Liddell, or Mr Bean as I called him as a kid, was a decent player coming towards the end of his career. I thought he was ok for us, definitely doesn't deserve to be remembered for being especially bad, scored a good goal against Villa in the FA cup. I was at the game, we played brilliantly but it was a very poor crowd and I remember thinking what a good game they missed!
