I'm doing nothing of the sort until the job is done and dusted. We've been here before.

But TD, if we do beat Northampton it will be job done as we will be top of the league.
We would simply be singing that we are top of the league......which would be FACT!
As far as I'm aware, there's no song yet for,
"And now you're gonna believe us, we are top of the league but not going to sing it very loud in case we aren't later on this afternoon"
Get with it ya wuss and sing it loud and proud...assuming we do win of course

Here here :)

Forget Bolton and Scunny, focus on our games and keep winning that is all that matters.

As a Blade for 40 odd years I won't sing about going up until it the job is done. We have been kicked in the bollox too often, let's not tempt fate.

Agreed, but the "song" in question doesn't mention going up!

On another "note" our fans really are crap singers. They hold a tune about as well as George Long and treat singing as a race.

Fair point Pinchy, but it is exalting our position at the top of the pile, something that can change fairly considerably between Jan and May. I would suggest it is on a par with singing about going up and is massively tempting fate.

We are already up, Scunny have been falling away for weeks which is why we have closed a 10 point gap.

Well said regarding the Scunny bit. Just because they are still top doesn't mean they haven't been falling somewhat.

On topic of the song in question, 'We are top of the league', when we will possibly be top of the league, what the actual fuck is wrong with singing that?

We could be singing it every game until the end of the season all being well :):)

Anyone remember singing "you're going down, with Swindon Town" (pet shop boys / go west) relentlessly to Oldham fans at Boundary Park in 94?

Was anyone sat with me in the upper tier at Chelsea when, a month later, we were relegated with the last kick of the game?

It's a funny old game.

I was stood at the side of you bawling that out at full volume, well we were safe, weren't we?

I also remember beating the Dingles and Rovrum in autumn 79 to chants of "Bring on the Wednesday". That went well for us,,,,

Leicester managed to keep their squad fit and had Kante. This is rare although it was great to see them break the monopoly. The reason teams "Drop Off" is generally down to squad depth when injuries hit. We have a very strong squad in Midfield with good defenders. So I believe we can keep going. Scunny may get lucky as may Bolton which could make it go to the wire.
Not sure if Scunthorpe have a big enough squad in depth to sustain their charge and are due a poor run, hopefully and then there is Bolton, who are loosing ££££s every week, will they be able to hold on to their better players in the JTW ??? Could be a very entertaining end to the season

THE MIGHTY BLADES

League One Champions 1016/17
Championship Champions 2017/18
Premiership Champions 2018/19
Domestic and European Treble (Prem, FA Cup and CL) 2019/20

IF YOU BELIEVE THEN YOU CAN ACHIEVE. I BELIEVE.

Wow, some season that in 1016. 50 yeares before ye olde famouse battle of Hastings to boot (231 arrested and 6043 killed, later subject to the William Report where fans banned from carrying arrows). Zounds and Chelsea not even a farmhouse in Surrey!

When Cnut the Great was crowned king (no that is not a typo your thinking of Curran the cnut) and we had players like Eric the Bloodaxe, and Billy the Sharp.

League Champions: Winchester City
Championship champions: Ashington Warriors
League One Champions: Sheaf Field United
League Two Champions: Carleole

"I've got a Wattle and Daub hut, As big as this..."

I remember after Imre Varadi gave us the lead in the home game against Cambridge in December 1978, the Blades fans were singing "We are going up! We are going up!". We didnt win that match and we got relegated at the end of the season!
That John Matthews 30 yarder for our last minute equaliser in the snow.

If scores stay as they are it will be a very good Saturday with the added bonus of another Pigs loss

Disappointed Bolton have scored a draw would have been best.

Dont think any result at Bolton was bad for us providing we won, draw best though followed by a home win, still the table looks great.

Everytime I see this, abit of wee comes out!!
