What a time to be a Blade. I don't remember being this positive about being a Blade in the last 50 years. Love watching the Blades knowing we give it a go every match. Taking the piss out of Man U at home with one touch passing triangles. Seeing Edna rip it up at Stamford Bridge, draws at Tottenham (should have won) The Emirates. Knowing your team can defend and defend well.

Qualifying for Europe would be a bonus, or would it, who knows. It could well attract players in the summer. Players who may look at Wilder and think I will improve under him. 30,000 plus every game.

In the next two months we have Chelsea, Tottenham, Wolves and Everton to come to the Lane, wow. Life is good being a Blade at the moment. We Blades know this could all change if Wilder left, so in Wilder we trust always. I'm not interested in people who think they know better than him about team selection or tactics, Wilder has my trust even when I don't always see it.

On the other hand I have just popped on the pigs board. Topics of shit crowds, less there than official numbers as season ticket holders staying away. EFL decision, docking points could see them relegated. Some tough fixtures coming up. Bad form not worth watching, crap atmosphere with weak rendition of we'll support you evermore. 11,000 home tickets for City FA cup match.

Imagine come May

Blades finishing 5th, FA cup final and Champions League 2020.21

Pigs Relegated into Sunday League as they like to call it, paying £40 for the privilege or using their 10 year season ticket.

I know I'm dreaming, wake me up someone.

I particularly like your point about Chris Wilder. I think there's no limit with him and AK in charge.
A word of caution perhaps keep off pig boards let them stew in a mess entirely of their own making.

Give you a like but let's refrain from calling it Sunday league (or pub league).

We should show respect to other clubs in that league. Anyway we've more class than that.

Yes quite right. As we are the Dog and Duck, yer actual pub team, then any league we play in is the pub league.

I get your point. However I was referring to how pigs referred to Division 1 when we were in it and they were in the top half of championship.

If both of those were confirmed on the same day we would have to give that day a name. Not sure what but I'm sure someone would come up with an appropriate name that we could refer to for evermore. The day after Christmas is always referred to as December 26th in my house.

I think it’s fine to be derogatory about the EFL when talking to pig fans though. I do because it winds them up not because I really believe it. They are the ones with a ludicrously over-inflated opinion of themselves so it’s nice to put them in their place.

If both these things are confirmed the same weekend, we should all club together to recommission the Green ‘Un for a one-day special front page.

Are you referring to that match at Leicester on the first weekend of May 30 years ago?

If only the football gods had arranged the fixtures to fall in line this season.

Let them stew in pig piss and swill of their own making.

Agree, the poor buggers at Steels, Sheffield and Hallam might be hosting that lot in the future.

aahh , nice positive thread
I dont want to get carried away away
I think we can have the odd bad day yet and finish as low as 5th

The way I see it is we've locked up that 40 point target with a crazy eleven games to spare. We've got this incredible position where we've still got something to play for, both cup and league, even if it would've seemed like a pipe dream not too long back. Meanwhile, the pigs are in a dire state. Every game should be party time for us. This is as good as it's ever been.

No disappointment if it doesn't work out, just the possibility for everything to go right.

1970firstmatch, I don't know who the hell you think you are coming on here with all your positive stuff about us and negative stuff about them, but I'm warming to you, keep it up.

The day after the 23rd of September is referred to as 'Bouncing Day'in my house...
😉

If Carlsberg did football seasons....

Might have a little look at Pigs taking on their peers this eve just to see what a big game atmosphere looks like. I have heard from a pig I know through work that its a full house this eve and that the BBC are going to turn the volume down.

Are they going to paint people out to make it look like it isn’t a full house, as well?

I mean, how many bloody years did we all have to listen to that crap in the workplace, at the local... "pub league" this and "sunday league" that when we were the ones falling to bits down in league 1? All respect to any genuine fan who supports any other team jocking for spots at the top end of any league below us, I just know it winds the piggies up so why can't we throw it back at them for a change??? I remember all the banter coming from them when we first got CW, about how we'd never go up. Following season "oh they won't score shit with Sharp and Clarke still up top" and then obviously all the little jabs last season about how we'd be lucky to make the playoffs, followed again with "so what if they've won automatics, record low points for them by Christmas in the prem". Sick ef em.
