The next bladey blade manager

It needs to be someone who can establish us as, at best, a yo yo team because that is the limit of the ambitions of a large number of our parochial fan base. We need to be kept firmly in the comfort zone, can’t be doing with any short term pain.
Yo-yo is a bit too ambitious for me. I just hope nobody cuts the string

Selles should be given time, but let's be honest, this has got 'sacked in November and we'll bring in a former blade to pick things up' written all over it.

So of the ex blades that have done coaching/managerial role somewhere, who's it going to be?

Rob Page, Monty, Neil Collins? Wilder? Warnock?

Anyone else we can be looking at?

#GERRIMBACK

I would agree with you about giving him time if he had not given the players an on field public bollocking after the Bristol City game.
IMHO that is poor management and I don't think he can come back from that.
At the moment I think we may as well have stuck with Wilder. No pay off and (unprovable I know) probably more points on the board.

Cooper should have, and hopefully will be brought in, if COH have any sense

Rather be a yo yo club than a Swansea playing nice stuff when it clicks but firmly mid table in the championship

Ah, the last refuge of the scoundrel, blaming the fans.

So it's not the confuision and dissaray on the pitch under RS, nor the clueless board selling players with no replacements lined up, but it's wholly down to the fans.

Cooper, Dyche etc wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole. They’ll have seen how COH operate. The more I think about it, I think O’Neil may have given us a swerve.

If they did pull the plug with Selles, I don’t think the owners would be thinking about such names and not sure they’d have the money either.

Based on the recruitment so far, the next manager would probably be some random European.

Is Sausage Roll still looking for a job ?

He used to be shite now he’s alright …

Failing that what’s this guy up to these days

We should move heaven and earth to get Cooper just as we should have in the first place. However the choices they are making don’t give me any confidence whatsoever. Wilders new contract, sanctioning the Cannon purchase, appointing Selles - they clearly haven’t got a clue what they are doing. They need to take a hard look at themselves in the mirror and admit that they’ve fucked up and get it sorted quickly.

Yep, the last two seasons in the PL have been full of unbridled joy. Fans got so over excited they were having to leave at half time.
Ah, the joys of turning the football club into a replica of Swansea!

Except Swansea are better run and managed than us at present, so good luck with that one, you may get your wish for some more short/long term pain in the process.

"Programmes 3 quid"..knows the area..knows the fans...best of all though. cheap as fuck..reyt up our street.

You didn't say which leagues we'd be yo-yoing between.
Selling the best players, not replacing them, no parachute payments, no proper planning will eventually deliver the bleedin' obvious.
Add in academy staff suddenly leaving and you've got a club facing its biggest challenge for many a year.
All after a 92-point Championship season.

Warnock can fuck off he's not a blade
It's quite funny that this myth keeps rearing its head when Warnock's name is mentioned. Anyone is entitled to consider him an egotist, a twat, whatever. But it's a fact that he grew up in a Blades area of the city and as a young man he used to go on the kop. In his book he talks about traveling to away games too. He may not have gone to every game. He may have been a fair-weather supporter, I don't know. But he's been a Blade all his life, as he has mentioned about a million times in his interviews.

People also say 'he may claim to be Blades fan but he's not - he's only a fan of himself'. Which implies that to be a 'proper' Blades fan you can't be at all egotistical or self-centred (wouldn't that exclude a large part of our fanbase?).

Yes he may be a twat. Yes he may have been disloyal - he may have spoken to Portsmouth during our PL relegation season. Yes he may have a big gob on him. But these things don't mean that he doesn't supports SUFC. You may as well say Noel Gallagher isn't a 'real' Man City fan because he's a big-headed egotistical gobshite.

It looks like he's lost the dressing room players ain't got s clue what there positions are look totally lost and hamer gesticulating to fans at final whistle its not looking good

More like they’ve got a clue they just either can’t be arsed or don’t trust themselves.

Always going to be an issue going from a ‘keep it simple’ manager going to someone with a modern outlook of the game.

This is right up your street at present. In your element.

Not sure why people need to be so personal about it with other posters. There’s one or two who need to give their heads a wobble.
