You got the bright orange HFS loans shirt?
I did have, but that was one of many shirts that like an idiot, I threw out when I moved house.

I hate that shirt anyway, really thin/light material but the sponsor on it was like having a bloody mouse mate stuck on the front of the shirt!

I was discussing women's football with my wife a couple of days ago. I said to her look at how bad the standard was in the NI v Austria game, particularly from NI. England in fairness played well and the game v Norway from England's perceptive but the defending from Norway was poor. I think it's the over egging of the attendance figures and the standard being generally poor that annoys me. The BBC will highlight 90,000 Barca v Real but not the 1,000 for Birmingham v Arsenal in the WSL or 13,000 at the Lane. The tickets are dirt cheap also and I think it just feels like it's pushed down your throats and the commentators are not critical of errors, in fact the opposite if a goal comes from the error they'll just focus on the positives of the goal even if the pass went straight to the opposition forward.

On the other hand it's good to see women and girls play sport for all the benefits sport has to offer, it doesn't have to be football saying that and I do feel the more women's football grows it will have a negative effect on more established women's sports such as hockey and netball but no one will mention that as long as women' football grows.

I know what you mean with them trying to hype it up etc.
BBC website has the WSL listed 2nd in line after the EPL and before the CHAMP.

Regarding commentary. They were spaffing themselves off with a goal in the Sweden-Swiss game. She bent it into the corner, but the GK had come out missed the ball and was stood in middle of area 🤣

The Dutch winner last night. Fantastic strike, but the GK kind of just turned he body horizontal, she tried to dive for it but didn't actually move left, or upwards.

For me the biggest part that let's the game down is the poor standard of goalkeeping. Maybe they need smaller goals?

I've thought about this and I really do think it comes down to boobs.

It really does fucking hurt to land on the side of your tit and if you're of the large boobed variety, you've probably got a big massive fuck-off sports bra sticking in your side too.

If anyone wants to research into boob size v. effectiveness of keeper, I'm sure there's PhD funding somewhere.

Kevin Pressman was half decent and he was at least a bit Cup.

Question re tickets.....anyone who's gone in with more than one ticket, did you have to transfer them, or were you all able to go in with them on one phone?
TIA

yeah ive gone in the last 2, with 2 tickets & 4. you just put your phone in the slot, & then swipe through the tickets but of course you would have to be last through

Thanks! Makes sense, seems that it feels more complicated than it really is 👍

I also find this irritatingly weird. It shouldn't bother me at all of course. But the subliminal suggestion being forced on you that the top two go-to leagues are the men's Premier League, then the top Women's followed by the rest of the men's league just looks plain daft. You won't find that in any other countries website I'd hazard.

Just keep them separate. Men's football, women's football. It's not difficult.

It's always easier to split up complex projects.

Who wants to research Boob size and who wants to research effectiveness of keeper?

😉

Well, this is the thing. From my experience of amateur women's football, it tends to be the erm... less fit... ladies who end up as keepers.

And less fit ladies end up rather more endowed in the cup size.

Maybe they should make keeper bras with padding in the sides like 90s keeper shirts used to have in the elbows.

Same with the boys. It was always the fat kid “coz you block most of ‘goal”

Not for nothing did Brown Fox play on the wing and Billy the Fish in net...Screenshot_20220714-165857_Google.jpg

No professional funding necessary. Willing and able keen amateur ready to go.

As I understand it, you can either have all the tickets on one phone and scan each person in, or you can assign each ticket to a person so that you can email them and they can scan their own ticket.

Of course there's then the whole activating your ticket through Bluetooth thing. It all seems unnecessarily complicated, just give me an actual ticket please. It's simple, and I can stick it in a box with all my other ticket stubs after the event.

No need to apologise, as the 8- or 9-year old me started off in goal because I was rather well-rounded. I can claim to have lost that shape a year or 2 later, and haven’t returned to it since (yet). As suggested by Linz in the case of women goalkeeping, my goalkeeping abilities were hampered by boobs - but nothing to do with anatomy.🤣

No need to apologise to me either.

Any of my old Interblades brethren that might be on here might recall I was built for comfort rather than speed.....

Nice one.

I might skip next week and try and get a ticket for that instead. Worth the risk.
I think it might already be sold out. You can't buy tickets on the online portal, but you can for the other semi at MK, albeit restricted tickets left.. Maybe they are holding some back but I reckon with it as a potential England Semi final, that they've all gone

Oi! Well I absolutely demand an apology.
What about us other forgotten and downtrodden goalkeeping fraternity- the "four eyes" crew.
Always picked last and, granted, always alongside "the fat lad". One in each goal. Sorted.
I don't disagree with the non-anatomical boobs comment though.

I got tickets months ago for it and believe it sold out once fans knew it would be where England would play if they got to the semi's

I am in the 4-eyes group as well. Fortunately the optician arranged for me me to have glasses with unbreakable lenses at very little cost, and they were fine except in rain. I needed a cap with a good peak!

As people have said, there simply is no option to buy a paper ticket.

I'm a volunteer (fanzone, city centre etc) and we directed an old bloke without a smartphone to the library. They went on line and sorted him out online and then printed it out for him to have scanned.

Been a laugh so far and the Swedes have been first class.

When buying tickets I had the option of mobile tickets or print at home tickets...

What has the catering been like? Is having a pint 30 mins before the match or at half time a pipe dream as per usual?
