Tyrese Campbell

Hmm. Ceilings are all well and good, but I reckon Campbell would kill for a career at Billy's level of performance.

BIlly's first touch was excellent, what he lacked that Campbell has is height and pace.

Campbell has 45 goals in 186 appearances

Billy had 90 plus goals in about 200 appearances at about the same age

I think he's been great but we've seen 10 goals so far lads
But what divisions were the appearances and goals in? Billy spent most of his career in League One and was at his most prolific at that level.

All but 5 of Campbell's goals were scored at Championship level.

To the end of the 2010/11 season (in which Sharp turned 25), Sharp had scored 9 in 16 at League Two level, 53 in 82 at League One level and 38 in 113 at Championship level.
Campbell has 5 in 15 League One appearances, 40 in 171 Championship appearances and 0 in 4 Premier League appearances.

Sharp was way more prolific - but it should be pointed out that 30 of his 38 Championship goals came for Doncaster in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons (62 apps).

Agree…of course he would….Sharp has had a fantastic career….and is one of the best strikers the Championship and EFL has ever seen.
He’s got plenty to feel proud about and of course the 2nd tier is a very high level.

My point was that Campbell is more talented, better 1st touch, better dribbler, more pace and power.
Not at Brian Deane level but Campbell could become an average/ established PL level striker…..he might be our main striker next season.
Where Edwards and Sharp were purely brilliant finishers (better at finishing than Deane or Campbell) but didn’t have enough in their game to make it in the top flight.

Campbell is very quick and mobile plus his strength means he's very difficult to stop once he's on a forward trajectory.

He also makes great runs which are timed to perfection. This is a real skill which many strikers can't achieve. Can't remember him being being caught offside very often.

If he can stay fit he'll be a top top goalscorer.

Sometimes a player and club and honest hardworking group just click and it works.

Reminds me of Leon Clarke.

I love the guy but he was tired along with hamer after 10 mins on Saturday! I blame the warm weather . Some of our players have major fitness issues!

Ridiculous verdict that a 54 yr old in such good health could drop so dramatically, for it to be decided it's "natural causes". With that on his mind, sod promotion, his welfare is far more important.
It wasn't a ridiculous verdict, and Kevin wasn't in good health. Let's not open a stream of speculation on this topic.

Tyrese Campbell must have been going through a bloody hard time, and probably still is. Who knows what is going on in the private lives of all the other players? It would be good if we could all remember that they are human beings as well as professional footballers. As you say, we should all consider their welfare as important, even when we lose a few matches.

We need to be looking at the other T Campbell at Charlton scored again this weekend

His dad was a gent and a great player. Saved Everton in 99.

Can we now adopt the Super Tyrese Campbell song for him and let Brewster take over the scoring v pigs song

Surprise signing of the season?

Free transfer with his previous injury record, did any of us expect that he'd be our joint top scorer with Hamer, having the best goals per minute ratio in the Championship (February to April).

Hopefully he can have a long prosperous career with us.

my brother died suddenly at an fa cup replay at Burnley aged 46 , in 1993 was declared of natural causes

Tyrese Campbell is a great striker. I don't recall a time where he ever completed a full 90 minutes, yet he was still our top scorer. I believe his goals to minutes played ratio was one of the best in the entire division, if not the best. He's pacy, quite tall, and is a good finisher. His movement is sensational and, because of that, he often finds himself in good positions (I think back to his goal against Coventry, where the ball came to him in the box and he was in the perfect position to hit it into the net). An underrated aspect of his game is his linkup play, he is a decent passer and a good dribbler. I think he established a particularly good partnership with Gus, and I believe wholeheartedly that we played better when Campbell was on the pitch.

The injuries and fitness remain the biggest question mark. It never seemed like he was ever fully fit throughout the duration of the season. If he can stay healthy for a full season, I think he will be a Premier League striker. That might be a ridiculous thing to say, given last season was his best in terms of goal scoring and he only scored 11 times, but the talent is evident. He's exactly what you'd want a modern striker to be. If he can apply everything across a full season and remain healthy, he will be lethal in this division. I'm excited for next season.

And, of course, he was the hero against the Pigs!

I think I knew you brother in that case. Not well but enough for lengthy Blades chats.

Without giving everything away, would your surname be the same as a former England international who was very much top level?
