Tyrese Campbell

A lovely player, I'll grant you, but sadly I think his record shows, that he is injury prone.

I reckon 20-30 games per season, max.

I'd really love to be proved wrong.
Yeah once a player has an injury that's basically the end of their career

Early in the season he seemed to be able to score but the rest of his game wasn't hat great. I guess that was lack of playing time, as he's got better and stronger as the season has progressed. His movement and running recently have been fantastic.
he's really impressive, as he came as back up to the clear no1 moore & if anything he worked his way to be the clear no1. he has been a great find. as he is what you want from a striker great pace & clinical

In the good/bad old days they'd have brought out the hypodermic syringe and killed the pain so he could play through injury.

Which brought short term gain but shortened careers and left ex-players hobbling about after playing when they shouldn't have done. As Tony Currie found out.

So the spells out through injury for present day players are actually progress and work much, much better in the long term for club and especially player.

So hopefully the injuries to Tyrese won't limit him long term.

He is looking like the real deal.

I've said it before, and granted that it's still early days, but carry on in this way and he's got a Didzy level trajectory on his hands. ❤️
To be fair to TC, he's scoring more goals than Didsy, loved Didsy, but TC is more on the Sharp trajectory, if he was a Sheffield lad he'd be a full on legend already

Why do you have to be so abrasive?
I didn't say that, I said he is injury prone. Look at his record at Stoke (146 games in 6 years), and his record here.
As I said, I;d love to be proved wrong, but the evidence suggests that won't be the case.

Please feel free to not read the above and respond with another off the cuff wanker post.

It is interesting he barely goes over the 66th minute is that a injury or conditioning or just management wanting to make a change with "one up top"

If he can become injury free he’s got a higher ceiling than Sharp had. Here’s hoping.

I reckon its also because we genuinely have options on the bench so there's no need to force him to keep going if theres a chance of keeping him fitter and fresher for next match.

There's been 1 week games that are quite tight that we take him off though.

Campbell has a far higher ceiling than Sharp regards ability.

Sharp was more of a goal poacher and needed setting up. He’s a legend in league 1 and the Championship but he’s done almost nothing at PL level.

Where as little by little it’s sinking in that Campbell might actually be a PL standard striker. His 1st touch is miles better than Sharp and his intelligence regards movement is impressive too. Thought his goal against Coventry was top class much harder than it looked.

Of course Sharp stats, like Keith Edwards before him are really impressive.

Sharp & Edwards are deservedly Blades legends and they were perfect for where we were at those times. They both gave us some fantastic memories and will always be venerated in the same way that the likes of Hagan, Currie & Woodward are. But Campbell is a significant step up from them in terms of ability. He could become one of our greatest signings, he just fits the club, as did all the others mentioned above. Kudos to Wilder for this one.

I think on Friday there was an element of saving players, the game was won so no point in risking a late injury to ant player not just Chinese Campbell

Hmm. Ceilings are all well and good, but I reckon Campbell would kill for a career at Billy's level of performance.

BIlly's first touch was excellent, what he lacked that Campbell has is height and pace.

Campbell has 45 goals in 186 appearances

Billy had 90 plus goals in about 200 appearances at about the same age

I think he's been great but we've seen 10 goals so far lads

A 1 in 4 goalscorer is pretty decent, surprised it's first time reached double figures in a season with that kinda record.

10 in 14 stars apparently. Set a couple of big chances up with excellent passes to Brewster and BBD. Ran the channels and linked play well.

Let's not forget that the majority of those impressive stats from Sharpe and Keef was from T'pub league 😉

His dad added me on LinkedIn for no reason whatsoever, god bless you King Kev and great work TC
