Good report

Brewster position isn’t working as you point out . It’s like we have some lovely individual jigsaw pieces but the connections don’t fit no matter how the manager shakes the box and tips them out .

No one and I include Hamer is on top form and when you add this to the above you end up with not quite there .

We have overachieved no doubt , but we are the sum of our parts which I fear will not come together enough for the playoffs .

Hope I’m wrong of course

The crowd was good imo in terms of numbers and noise tbh - the ref had a really good game and let the players play and wasn’t over fussy

Good appraisal that Bell 4 ! won an amazing amount of games with individual quality team work at a premium.
The worrying thing is ! If we don't go up we have to be better alround as a team next season! No way will points fall into our lap next season the way they have to date.
This season has to be a one off.
Wilder prides himself on playing on the front foot which hasn't been the case this season.
Probably a bit harsh on him as he has done a good job building a new team on a smallish budget.
When comparing our re-build with Burnleys! No comparison really as they let a lot go but retained most of the quality within the group and building from a stronger group would always make it easier to build on! In my opinion.!
So yes Wilder has done a great job! On not a lot ! kudos to him! Now he needs to finish the job.

I wonder if there’s a way to squeeze all the attack minded players in for Burnley?

4-1-4-1

Cooper
Seriki Ahmedhodzic Holding Burrows
Souza or Peck
Rak- Sakyi Hamer O’Hare Brereton-Diaz
Campbell

Too attacking or could it work? At least it feels like there is goals in that team.

Now that we’ve completely bottled such a great position over 3 games against very poor opposition, let’s call a spade a spade finally this season, it was a pathetic performance for a team supposedly chasing automatic promotion. We are not even making the play off final.

Aah, now I'm with you, I typed 'specific' but that fucking wankbag predictive text kicked in.
The stats I posted were BBD and your mate Rhian’s. Unsurprisingly Rhian’s are worse. Definitely not the type of ‘quality’ we need.

Personally wouldn't want either here next season regardless of the league we are in.

We are stuck with Cannon/Moore for 4/2 years each which is remarkable (neither are good enough to be a starter in a team going for promotion). We can't carry anymore players that don't have the power/pace to consistently effect games nor can play more than 1 good game in 5 or last 90 mins.

I could live with Choudhury remaining as he is a decent utility man especially as Souza probably goes and Blaster may need time but the rest of the loan players it's a big no from me.

Aah, now we're talking. Stats can't make BBD better at controlling a football and in the Premier League that doesn't work. He has some heart and runs about a lot though, which is enough for some of our more easily pleased fans. Brewster it's hard to tell, his touch is excellent and his vision's good but he doesn't influence games enough. He's like Sander Berge Lite, and would also probably thrive at a team like Fulham but he'll never hit the heights for us as we're not great at carrying passengers.

We need another two Harry Souttars for starters, big lads who can play a bit and just having him showed what a huge difference it makes having defenders who can defend. We need strikers who can score goals, they need to have pace, power and a ruthlessness our strikers don't have. Bottom line, promotion means six to ten better players than we've got, and that means stupid money that could kill us if it doesn't work. Fuck the Premier League for me, it's a place where good Championship teams go to die but sadly, I'm not sure what the alternative is.

Agreed, we’d need a minimum of 9 new players and I wouldn’t trust Wilder to sign them.

BBD has performed for us in the PL in a very poor team, but I do think we need better if we ever go back up.

Was reflecting whilst watching the Man U match just that if football weren’t broken they’d be looking over their shoulders this season, as it stands they’re going to be 20 points clear after a shit season.

Totally agree re your Robbo comment. One of the Radio Sheffield presenters also teed Wilder up with a 'was Robbo injured question' and Wilder went on about his hamstring. Load of bollocks, he was dropped and if wasn't then management team want shooting.

And you know what, Wilder is going to give him a new contract. He's an early 30s under sized centre back that constantly has a hand full of shirt and wasn't good enough 2 years back. If it happens it will stink of all those expensive 'thank you contracts' handed out a few years back to past it players !

Agree re loanees. I would have liked the opportunity to see Holding more often in a red and white shirt to form an opinion on whether he's worth going for next season. Unfortunately I fear if JLT gets shoe horned back into the team at his expense tomorrow he'll not want to come back. He came to us to get game time after being frozen out by Palace yet he's experienced the same situation here getting splinters in his arse. Would you want to play for a manager that prefers a mid table championship standard ex full back at centre half when you played for Arsenal at the highest level with 100 EPL appearances.

If you were at the game, you may have noticed he played on the left.
The comment from Deadbeat was referring to BBD as a whole saying he's being a poor signing. He's played on the left very sparingly since he's arrived so I'm sticking to my point. If he played up top or on the left I think have seen we'd see more from BBD. But I understand why Wilder has played him there too but I still think he could be a good signing if he joins.

Especially if you consider that Hamer could go if we dont go up.
