Beautifully put, Tarquin - I was in the gym the other day, and the bloke on the next running machine was tweeting happily away, next minute he's gone, on his arse on the floor. To be honest, if luminaries such as Rio Ferdinand and Joey Barton lead the field, then I think we should start to trim the herd.

I follow a few (current and ex), but I only really use it to make sure I know what my oldest is doing on her account.

Most of them post absolute tosh, but Sir Brian of Deane isn't bad, and Greg Halford comes across incredibly well, thoughtful, and well aware of how lucky he is to be a professional footballer. His response to the crisis at Pompey was diplomatic and controlled. Billy Sharp's charity work is also excellent

I keep it (as with all my online lives) completely separate to fb, here and wherever else i pop up

I seem to remember Twatter is something a bit different

Twitter is crap and fantastic in equal measure.

It gives total morans on a wide audiance but there is also lots of good resource, news and informative twitter feeds that can feed you by the second updates on whatever you choose. Just because 99.9% of it is probably of no interest to you, doesnt make the 0.1% any less valuable.

As an artist, its an absolutley valuable promotional tool for me. About 70% of my website traffic is refered from twitter and its opened a lot of lucrative doors that would otherwise have been much harder to break through. Without social media, I simply wouldnt be able to do what I do.
