Just bought my ticket for the Pig Roast and then went online to book a train ticket and as far as I can see there are no trains from London to Sheffield Sunday morning except for one that gets into Sheffield at 11.53. Any other London Blades that are going up that know any different.

Otherwise I am thinking of hiring a car for the whole weekend that I am over in England and driving up from London Sunday morning, in which case I have 3 spaces if any Blades want to share some petrol costs?

That is an East Coast trains to Donny I believe mucker. You would arrive in Donny at 10:51. I'd recommend getting a taxi from Donny to Shef. If you plan it ahead and book a local firm it should not cost you too much. If you book the train online (on their website) it will only cost you £9 and hence the overall journey should not cost too much. Think you would get there on time, but doubt you would have time for a beer (though plenty of time for some after).

Saying all that, hiring a car is probably the best option. I am heading up from London, but going on Friday and making a weekend of it.

Cheers Jon I might look at that if there aren't others who want to share the drive up from London :-)

Cheers Olle but I would like to get there early for a beer and the atmosphere.

Understand that mate. Are you on facebook? There is a London Blades group you coudl join. You could put a message on there and see if you can find some to share a lift. Should imagine you would cast the net wider than this forum.
