Transfers: Who should/could we get?

I've heard the rumours about Grabban and Miller but is there any others we have been strongly linked to?

I think Matt Phillips played in Blackpool's first team last weekend and is 'back in favour'. Ah well, add him to Halford, Andy Reid etc.

Seeing as we have won all of our games and Lowton seems better without him maybe we should be happy with that, despite him being an excellent player. Also if Clarke was here too then our goalscoring machine Ched would probably be on the bench as DW appears to have a rule that either Cressy or Porter must play. In this case it is more about the team than the individual.

Who should we get? We should sign Barcelona. Who could we get? On our budget we've not much sign of signing anyone of any note until the high earners go. For example, in summer we signed a striker. Chris Porter. I rest my case.

Go north and raid Hearts stock of very decent wingers. And Alan Lee in summer when Hudd go up and leave him behind.

Can't see us spending any decent money. Can see Williams becoming permanent for a nominal fee. with Ertl coming back to fitness, i can see that being it in terms of defence.

Another loan for Clarke isn't out of the question, as said above, Phillips is back in favour at Blackpool and good luck to him. Beattie on an 18-month contract should he prove himself till the end of his current short-term deal and that'll be about it.

Maybe another couple of loans if required.

The only thing that will change this is the movement out of one of out better paid players, then anything could happen.

Do you really think a club will buy Ched while the court case is still pending?
Not so sure. He has been playing very well of late but it may put a few off until the Summer, especially if he is out of contract by then and would have to be sold for a pittance.

Better to do what Leeds did with Beckford. Accept he might leave when his contract expires, but count on his goals to fire us back to the championship, then worry about the striking situation when we're back up, with an extra £4-5m television money, gate receipts and season ticket holders.
