So we dont seem to be selling anyone
, but then again , no ones coming in either

unless .............................................

IMO yesterday was the last time we will see Quinny in a blades shirt. Monty's injury may keep him here depending on how serious it is. I'd be surprised if any clubs came in for anyone else to be honest. Clubs know we can't sustain our current wage bill thus we'll get a fraction of their worth.
So by close of play on Wednesday my reckoning is:
Quinn out
No-one in.

I think Quinny will be one of the ones that stays. Boggy will probably go, Willo possibly too, but Quinny is seemingly far too effective at this level that it'd be more costly to lose him IF we intend to make a go of things this season.

I'm hoping that we can keep all the players we currently have. Willo and Quinn have shown their quality already and Monty his importance to to the team, I would like to see another striker come in - someone a bit different to what we have and would be happy to see Boggy move out. I'm not sure we have the cover at LB/CB at the mo, but it may be that we see some of the reserves/youth players at Burton on Tuesday, so that may show us what Wilson is thinking about those positions.

Thats probably true. In another thread someone said he'd heard a rumour about us paying part of hendo's wages at milwall. This is also probably true. When Alan Quinn came to United the Wendies had to pay part of his wage, he also took a wage cut to come to us.
I still think we'll have Quinny though.

Realistically, the only clubs coming in for any of our players will be championship clubs and as the loan window opens the next day it would be more astute for them to wait until then to ensure they don't have to pay a fee. Financially we've got our hands tied and would probably be forced to let high earners go on loan 'with a view to a permanent move'. I think it will be just as likely for players to leave on Thursday as it will on Wednesday.

Who stays and who goes is likely to be similar to the Beattie situation. We couldn't afford to pay his wages, but ultimately him leaving cost us promotion so we lost more money with hindsight. Should McCabe gamble his money and keep Quinn? But what happens if we don't get promotion? Prefer to lose some of the fringe players and risk some of the high earners staying injury free (I know that history shows that to be a bad bet but our luck has to turn sometime). Think a lot will depend on the players ambition though. Quinny has gone on record saying that he doesn't want to leave but would do for the chance of playing at a higher level. Will that sway his wage demands and help facilitate a move?

Also seems a odd business move telling everyone we're skint as it just leads to silly bids as everyone knows we are desperate.

I would move heaven and earth to keep Quinny for the length of this season, as at the moment he is far and away our best player, and at this level i would say that he is one of the, if not the best player at this level.

I'm quite happy with the squad the way it is, but i would like to see Evans go (very unlikely given his wages and current predicament), and Bogdanovic go as he has been complete and utter shit, and the fact that he has hardly appears tells you everything you need to know about him

DW has said he doesn't want first team/senior players on loan as there is no value in it. I would expect any flurry of activity will be for Quinny. Lets face it, if anything over £1m comes in he is off.

As for the rest, well I would say its going to be no because they aren't good enough at the higher level. They proved it last season. Would you take a punt on Chedders as your striker at Championship level?

If anything they will come for Quinn - and I thought the thread title meant something else :( :P

I'm very happy with the way the squad is but nothing wrong with adding depth, I think this team is basically a Championship team that was badly managed last season, but with DW at the helm that may change.

No rumours, no news in the Stir or any of the crap right wing papers. Are we really going to get away without losing some of our best players?

Surely clubs must have been monitoring Quinn's situation and would be thinking about bidding. He would fit in any decent footballing team and would be a good addition to any of the newly promoted premier league teams, as well as Championship teams. I would also have thought a Championship team might have taken a punt on Williamson. Willo is ill discplined and has a poor injury record, but he is very talented. An excellent attacking minded and creative midfielder on his days. His injury record has improved and other than a few niggles he has been pretty much been fit since that serious injury last summer (where he nearly lost his life). Monty can do a job at Championship level and has proven he can add value to a team with performances this year. Yed there does not appear to be any interest in any of the three (touchwood). Let's hope that it stays that way.

30 hours to go .......

My guess is we may have a busier day than expected;

Quinn, Monty and Boggy all out.

no-one in

Whats this Ollie? you hoping that Monty doesnt go?

Think Quinns form may be the thing that keeps him here as we need him to get out of the league more than the low transfer money we would get for him. Come on McCabe finance a couple of signings and keep everyone that Wilson wants to keep lets show the rest we mean business

Boggy in talks with Blackpool according to Sky.

That would be a very pleasant surprise.
