Transfer deadline day

it doesn't look like we are getting involved in any international deadline day action.

100%

The midfield needed a touch of quality in an attacking sense, not sure why this has been overlooked.

I am baffled because we still have a loan left and there are some quality players not getting a game sure it would have been worth getting one in.

Like Ruben Loftus Cheek?

He would be good but we can't have more than 1 loan from anyone 1 team as we have Ampadu.

He is apparently on 175k a week wages and even if we didn't have Ampadu we still wouldn't sign him on loan even with Chelsea paying 100k of the wages.

Just goes to show how out of control wages have got when you have squad players on 175k a week.

It’s baffling that a team on 0 points and 1 goal hasn’t even tried to plug some pretty obvious holes, even in the loan market. I truly hope Lowe and Bogle are magnificent, because for now it looks like we’ve spent 25% of our tight budget on reserve wingbacks...

True, forgot about that.

I second the Goonersaurus shout, and think we should also try and tempt the West Brom boiler, in case it gets nippy this winter.

So we are agreed. We need the WBA boiler and Goonersaurus to complete our mascot squad.

I really hope we are not going to be short in midfield. In fact I'll change that to, we already are short in midfield! Hope we can get through and we'll be more creative but right now that's a real area of concern to me, as we look no stronger in midfield this season, weaker if anything - based on the current form of Fleck and Norwood. Berge is doing well but he's still developing and needs that creativity alongside him - something largely absent right now.

What's odd was that Wilder seemed to want to strengthen the midfield - Swift - but then we've done nothing in this area, other than letting Freeman go and play Berge play in the centre - fair enough on Berge, Freeman I'm not so sure, but maybe Wilder thought we have enough depth on the left side.

Hoping that its more a case of playing some good sides and we've not played any of the expected crappy sides yet, Villa and Leeds unlikely to be in the mix it seems. We're likely to be in a mini league with Burnley, Brighton, West Brom and Fulham, but we can take points off anyone on our day, although would need to be more clinical than thus far. We have, of course, improved the strikers with Brewster I'm sure, and Burke has given us something different also, and I think will be useful off the bench if not starting. We've also added to the defence, albeit more in depth than to start but that may well change as we go on and we've brought younger players too which is great.

What positions do they play though?

The boiler brings energy to the midfield. Gunnersaurus will be a target up front, but if you ask me his best days are behind us and we’d have been better off going for Kieffer Moore for that role.

Gunnersaurus is 27 and in his prime.

More likely we get him than an actual player at the moment.

All joking aside, I just want to say what a scummy, grubby club Arsenal have turned into.

Using Ozil as an excuse for making 55 staff (and now the mascot) redundant, then the very next day they sign Willian on £220,000 per week. They're now apparently in for a £110 million player.

I appreciate football clubs live and die by the signings they make, and footballers win trophies not tea ladies, but it all leaves a rotten taste in the mouth!

I hate Arsenal with a passion they are a joke of a club.

They are all as bad as one another. Chelsea hoovering up all the young talent and giving them no route to first team football! Ruben Loftus Cheek on £150,000 per week and can't get a game for Chelsea but Fulham are stumbling with paying his wages on a loan deal! The world has gone mad!

Meanwhile Man Ure continue to buy any old player they can with little thought of how they fit into a team!

If we've got true ambition we'll pick up Goonersaurus on a free. Add depth to the mascot squad.

Speaking of mascots, what’s Captain Pirate been doing while us fans have been off? Does he still dance around the pitch during and after the warm up just out of habit? Also, what happened to that big parrot thing he had with him for a bit? I liked that.
