Is that McCabe with a tash there?

He clearly wants more. He said BEFORE we sold Murphy we weren't good enough
Also, he's talked about 'staying in touch while January'

He's been let down big time by the muppets above him

Surely Lee Turnbull's remit is to source and secure players that fulfill NA's requirements? He should be accountable, its his only job!

I bet he is stunned. No way would he have taken on the job if he knew he would have to sell his best player and only be able to bring in two permanent transfers all season.
Still naively hoping to be proven wrong but it's looking like we've written off another season.

Permanent transfers: Sharp, Woolford. Transfers here until the end of the season: Hammond, Sammon, Edgar.
Leaving aside what you may or may not think of these players, what difference does it make whether they are in the former category or the latter?
You may take the view (I do) that we can do better than at least two of those three loanees for next season, whatever league we are in.
With so many leaving in the summer, it may be best for most of the incomers so far to be season-long loans because so much reshaping will be taking place in the summer regardless.
The same applies to the people shipped out on loan – we may find that some of them return and find they have a role to play (especially the youngsters).
There's no reason to say permanent is better than season-long loans unless you are just looking for something to criticise without thinking it through.

Is it really beyond the realms of possibility for a Manager to take a job which has certain promises.
Then the promises don't materialise but he has signed a contract so cannot financially walk away.
Therefore he sees the only course of action to fuck it up so he gets sacked and paid off.
Answering any future sleights on his character by saying the club that sacked me were in absolute turmoil from top to bottom, my hands were tied, promises weren't forthcoming etc.
Just a thought.

Yes. This isn't Football Manager.

Can't sign anyone if the board won't fund it though...

We've had three disappointing cup campaigns and we're bumbling along upper mid-table and seemingly always just outside the playoff zone. Why would the JTW be any more exciting?

Scoogs might be heading back to Scotland. Hibs & St. Johnstone interested.

I'll drive Scougall up there. Wayyyy too lightweight. Got 1 goal and no assists last season?

I'm starting to enjoy this mass exodus now.

Dimiao gone. Hopefully Scougall next out the door as well, hopefully a permanent transfer because I think he's still under contract next season.

Hopefully we can ship out Higdon, Kennedy, De Girolamo & Cuvelier before the window ends and I'll regard this as a good transfer window. If we signed a new centre half as well I'd class it is a very good one. I doubt very much we'll win promotion regardless, but at least some of the hard work has been done now rather than in summer.

Double like.

Pompey in for Scougall too. Them and Hibs are loans. St. Johnstone want a permanent deal

Hope it's the permanent deal, suits us far better. If it's only a loan we're going to have to try and get rid of him again in the summer.

The young uns aren't the big problem. It's the dross like Collins, Higdon, Flynn on high wages that are holding us back.

Sadly they aren't gonna be going anywhere this window mate. Higdon maybe but not the other 2. We'll have to wait until summer before we're shot of them. Glad we're doing all we can to get rid of the other dead wood now though.

If we just let a few go but no one came in I'd not consider it a good transfer window. We desperately need improvements to the first eleven, or its mid table or 6th at best, and 6th's not looking certainty by any means. Higdon, Kennedy and Cuvelier are out of contract at the end of the season anyway, as are a few more like Collins and McGahey, so its not a massive saving on wages, although it would be welcome. We need a centre back and a centre forward (to play off Sharp) and a centre mid, but probably we'll only get one of those at best, since we clearly don't have the budget to make the pace but are negotiating/haggling at the last minute like buying an old used car - which we still can't afford!

It's only a mere 20 minutes to get Radio Sheffield's first "breaking sports bulletin" at 4.30! I predict that they'll say something like United are hoping to bring in one or two, with Connor Dimaio the only out so far.
