If we don't sign anyone today it'll mean a complete window without signing a single player.

That would show enough to me that something is seriously seriously wrong with this club.

That would be the first time I can remember a JTW passing by without anybody coming in. Unless my mind escapes me?

we've technically extended Hammond's loan until the end of the season.

Me neither.
Would we be the only club outside a couple of the big prem sides not to sign anyone? Don't think Man City or Man United have but apart from that?

If we were objective outsiders looking into S2, seeing the biggest club in the division, with a flaunted billionaire co-owner, one place / 2 points off the play-offs, and not strengthening at all this JTW we'd say there was something seriously amiss in either the club's management, actual finances or ambition.

Still, time to get someone in yet. UTB

Adkins has been spotted taking his seat to watch our U21's in action this afternoon.

Cue the meltdown.

'PATHERTIC!!! FFS HE SHOULD BE AT HIS DESK ON 6 PHONES N 2 LAPTOPS!!! JOKE OF A CLUB!!!'

:D

It's SO FAR for him to go to reach a computer or phone. Unless he's using wifi. The wifi going down can be our new faxgate

Me neither.

Southampton won't be making any signings at all today according to cunty Koeman.

Walsall just stated Bradshaw going nowhere, too important to lose in their push for promotion.
Genuine sentiment, or trying for more money.

Posh have signed Tom Nicholls from Exeter. almost 1 in 2 goal return over the last couple of seasons.

I am not sure I agree with the theory that if we don't sign anyone that it means there's a problem. To me it means they have stopped the bleeding and I might support this, given the signings so far have not been inspiring, Sharp aside.

I don't think we should be signing players for the sake of it, but we should be planning for the future is players become available. Teams around us have brought in young prospects who should already be able to do a job at this level. I would prefer us to be doing the same and planning ahead.

The only benefit of the JTW so far is that clubs around us have lost players as well.

So, you're saying we still have the cash to buy despite installing a state of the art pitch? The £1m+ mooted that it cost doesn't matter, because we have cash to jizz in the transfer market regardless?

Seems to me by the massive influx of top class players that will improve our very poor squad that this might be bollocks.

You get a million in income, you can spend £600K on wage. The other £400K cannot be spent on wages so it needs to spent on other things.

Or in our case, the Prince puts in £10 million. We can only spend £6 million on wages - the other has to be on others things which is why £1 million went on pitch. Bascially speaking.

Where's Max? Thought he'd be allover this thread.

Apparently Sharp isn't leaving so he must be really ITK

An extension of a loan isn't a signing, in my view. It's akin to extending a contract.

If Sammon was to go and we loaned a good striker until the end of the season, I'd call that a signing.

Not sure where the cash came from to invest in the Desso pitch. More likely a loan from a director or whatever. Spending on wages and new signings has to come from the income (gate receipts, transfer fees, sponsorship etc) not from loans

So the cash from the Desso pitch could have been generated from player sales?

I'll admit, it's a cynical outlook regarding McCabe and the rest of the board ... but I wouldn't put anything past this lot, Silent.

The way stuff is shrouded from view, undisclosed fees, the great Game Changing Investment statement and the big push to get us up (and then spend when there, ridiculously enough) doesn't give me much trust over the team at the top of business at the Lane.

But it is a signing. We had him on loan until end of December, when that contract ended we signed him up again. Technically/factually a new signing.

Im sure some people would rather have us sign 2/3 average players instead of getting rid of all the deadwood.

Our co-owner isn't a billionaire. His very extended family may be but if I remember correctly research into his business interests and wealth when he "joined" put him having around £145 million. If he was a billionaire I think he would have bought into his first love in the NFL.
