£1.8m on a couple of new Desso pitches, would suggest they won’t be relocating away from Shirecliffe in the immediate future.
They’re not Bettis said earlier in the summer the plan to go to a new unified facility no longer on the table so looking at smaller sites and the plan is to split the academy and senior teams across a new site and an updated shirecliffe.

That was never the plan anyway. The plan was to split the first team and the academy/ladies sides.

Whilst it’s very swish Leicester aren’t really a decent yard stick for us t use they’re an established prem club with occasional European adventures. I’d hope we’re looking at a set up like Swansea’s or Palace’s new set ups
Exactly - it shouldn't be about going into impress mode, just deliver a training complex that's appropriate and future proofed. Offer the players somewhere where they can enhance their skills and fitness, plus offer the physio skills relevant to a footballer's life.

Yep future proof us as a club, secure the future of the academy and make sure we have the facilities to allow the staff to do what they want with the senior lads.

Anybody noticed that since Wilder left, his mate Wit has bashed the club at any given opportunity?

He just chats more shit, I noticed when we were on a good run towards the end of last season he kept his mouth shut.

Maybe not totally ideal, but if whoever is doing the work is only available now, what can the club do? I’d suspect it’s a specialist firm undertaking the work and as such likely to be fully booked for months on end.

Wit seems to be upset that he lost his limelight since Wilder left.

You also need to do the work whilst grass will still grow well. Ie the Summer to start and then Autumn to bed in and put roots down. Otherwise you are throwing money down the toilet. I would imagine the Club is getting good professional advice on this.
Bradford city near me had theirs done the other week.

To be fair Ian thought Brexit would be a good idea so it's fair to say the complexities of planning a project aren't his strong suit.
You must be a member of the World Economic Forum with an attitude like that

I suppose we've only made a £30m profit in the last couple of years, plus another £20m on Ramsdale not reported yet, plus £46m in parachute payments, so you can see what people mean when they say there's simply no money to fix the showers at the training ground
What's wrong with a hosepipe?

I don't see his logic. Better to do the work now than never. Also better to do it whilst the players are off over summer and away in Portugal for pre season.

I suppose the best time is immediately after the last ball had been kicked but the company doing it does so based on their availability not your need or want. If it is a long job then there probably is no good time. Not as if they are going to leave no pitches. They can just stagger the times the various teams train.

I suppose the obvious question is why wasn’t it done more than 2 years back when Wilder had his hands on the cookie jar and we’d got income of the like we’d never seen before?
