There's little-to-no chance that the Prince finances it.

Does anyone know how much is still owing on the mortgage taken out to buy the ground & other McCabe assets ? Presumably we won't be borrowing more money to build at Dore until this mortgage is paid off ?

I think it actually might happen either way.

If this takeover doesn't go through, will have to see if the Prince doubles down as a top rate academy could maybe be the golden egg needed to tip it over the edge of sale.

If it does, its a no brainer.

(I do know its not the academy we are talking about but that, I think would be the biggest opportunity from the training centre)

I drove past on Sunday still nothing happening with it. I reckon designs and planning permissions still going through. If we get promoted this season we can invest a bit more in it so perhaps waiting on confirmation of that.

I don’t know anything about the site, but there will probably need to be various surveys which will need to be completed on top of the planning permission.

So could still be a fair way off from a start on site date.

There was a small update recently, but i cant remember where it is and what it said 'surveys and tenders' seems to ring some bells.

Lets be honest, its a decent size site and will take quite some time to prep it, as its not exactly flat land.

Played football and cricket up there a couple of times and if memory serves me right, the pitches on the left of the drive going up, were the flatest, but sloped from the top pitch down to the astroturf and the the right of the clubhouse is pretty uneven.

Its a massive site, so will be really interested to see how much of it they use.

When we last got promoted the money for this should have been ringfenced. Way more important than any signing we could make. Build this training ground and we continue to dominate youth recruitment in the region for as long as we want. It's massive, to borrow a term from another club I know.

Apparently the new owners have put a tender out for a consultancy firm or developer. Not sure what they are being asked to do but there's been no planning application, so I'd imagine it'll be project managing the planning process and then the construction phase.
