Tough run of fixtures coming up

Let’s be honest everyone says this now.

It gets to 2.55 against any of those teams we are expecting a win. It’s just how football goes. Also why there is a lot of pressure on sports stars.

Half people will say we are 4th we should be beating Milwall. Then game after we are 2nd we should be beating anyone etc.

We’ll lose one there will be a meltdown at Lundstram / Clarke / CW like always.

I'm not worried in the slightest as everyone one of those teams listed has to play us. And on our day we have the ability to beat all teams in this league.

If we are serious about competing in this division we should be looking to get at least 16 pts fron these games. Most of the opposition are bang average. I would be disappointed if we got less than that.

When this was written how many thought millwall and Preston would be bottom 2

They have not improved. They chose poorly
we appear to have chosen wisely

Millwall - 3pts - Tick
Blackburn - 3pts - Tick
Hull - 3pts - Gotta be surely
Derby - 3pts - Lampard will think we're a bunch of hoofers
Stoke - 0pts - Stoke finally click
Wigan - 1 pt
Forest - 3pts - Owe them for last season
Pigs - Saying Nowt

Not quite sure why you think that about Lampard - Yes it's easy to be a bit sceptical about his lack of experience and the "golden generation" crap but joking aside he's done better than I expected so far. He certainly comes across as a fair bit more eloquent and on the ball than a lot of managers do.

Millwall (A) - always a tough place to go, lost last 3 at the New Den with our last win back in 2010. Only beaten them once in 7 attempts both home and away.

Blackburn (A) - moving along well after their promotion. Unbeaten at home. We've not won at Ewood Park since 1986 - 9 games ago.

Hull (H) - Should be wiping the floor with them in all fairness.

Derby (A) - Live on SKY, 5:30pm kick off, currently level on points with us. Tough place to go to, always.

Stoke (H) - Not clicked into gear yet, have a very strong team on paper. They've not won a game away yet. I'd like that to change before they play us.

Wigan (H) - Started off really well, however most of their points have come from home games.

Forest (A) - Always tough against them. Even tougher at the City Ground.

Pigs (H) - Well..

I'm going for 10pts from that lot. The away games look very difficult.

Well, I said I'd be happy with 12 points from these 8 games, we've now got 9 points from the first 3.

Revised opinions?

I'd take 7 points from the next 5:

Derby (A)

Stoke (H)

Wigan (H)

Forest (A)

Pigs (H)

Ever the optimist*, I've gone with:

Millwall - 1pt (3)
Blackburn - 3pts (3)
Hull - 3pts (3)
Derby - 1pts (0)
Stoke - 3pts (1)
Wigan - 3pts (3)
Forest - 0pts (0)
Weds - 3pts (?)

17/24

A win on Friday and we've picked up 16/24. That'd be a fantastic return. Quality, these blades!

Obvuiously there are 24pts on offer, but for me, realistically, the best we can achieve is 15 or 16pts. My gut feeling is 10pts as follows:

Millwall - 1pt
Blackburn - 0pts
Hull - 3pts
Derby - 0pts
Stoke - 1pt
Wigan - 3pts
Forest - 1pt
Pigs - 1pt

I predicted 10pts. Currently sit on 13pts. Hopefully i end up 6pts off.

14 points then from this run of games. After a bright start there’s a bit more realism sinking in now that we’re not the wonderful, free scoring side that everyone thought we were. Less than 2 points a game for the rest of the season will see us around 8th in my opinion.
