Tough run of fixtures coming up

mattbianco1 you’ve been posting on here for ages, surely you must realise that posting a set of fixtures and saying we can (and will) win them all is the done thing. If we lose the first one then you come back on and post the rest and declare that “it” (whatever “it” is) starts from there. If not you’re a closet pig or Wilder hater, unless you sign off your post with the immortal Bladey sign off “in Wilder we trust”.

If it means anything I concur with your view that if we get 15 points from that lot we’ve done bloody well.

I've known to not be too optimistic since 2009. In the build up to the Barnsley game away, I declared that I would bare my arse on Town Hall steps if we lost to them. We were going into the game after 4 straight defeats. Only 2 penalties save my dignity:

Ever the optimist*, I've gone with:

Millwall - 1pt
Blackburn - 3pts
Hull - 3pts
Derby - 1pts
Stoke - 3pts
Wigan - 3pts
Forest - 0pts
Weds - 3pts

17/24

* I piss £20 away every game, betting on 3-0

Daniel fucking Bogdanovich, the Dimitar Berbatov of South Yorkshire football. Thanks for the reminders.

Vividly remember this game and Darius Horrendouson's penalties and gritted teeth fist pump to the crowd after the second one.

hull is the banana skin..
blackburn not lost at home? .. bound to win
hull bottom not had a shot for 3 games? bound to lose
:D

If we play with the skill and determination that we showed against Bolton and villa we wont lose any of them, I wont mention Birmingham or Preston.

Obvuiously there are 24pts on offer, but for me, realistically, the best we can achieve is 15 or 16pts. My gut feeling is 10pts as follows:

Millwall - 1pt
Blackburn - 0pts
Hull - 3pts
Derby - 0pts
Stoke - 1pt
Wigan - 3pts
Forest - 1pt
Pigs - 1pt

Are they points or pints? If the latter, you are doing well cutting down on the drinking

12 points from these 8 games would be fine and would probably keep us in touch with the play off spots. Anything more than 12 would be a bonus and anything less than 10 would be disappointing.

At this stage of the season and with the strange way that the top 10 clubs are so close I would agree with the above. 12 points would keep us very much in the mix. Not sure what the results will be but I would go with;

4 wins, and either 2 draws & 2 defeats or 1 draw and 3 defeats.

Forest away is a lose banker , make some money on it !! They will have eyes on the next match coming up .

Realistically we need about 1.75 points per game to make the play offs. Maybe a wee bit less if it's a very open division this year, as seems to be the case. If we can quietly chug along at about that rate I'll be happy.

Millwall (A) - always a tough place to go, lost last 3 at the New Den with our last win back in 2010. Only beaten them once in 7 attempts both home and away.

Blackburn (A) - moving along well after their promotion. Unbeaten at home. We've not won at Ewood Park since 1986 - 9 games ago.

Hull (H) - Should be wiping the floor with them in all fairness.

Derby (A) - Live on SKY, 5:30pm kick off, currently level on points with us. Tough place to go to, always.

Stoke (H) - Not clicked into gear yet, have a very strong team on paper. They've not won a game away yet. I'd like that to change before they play us.

Wigan (H) - Started off really well, however most of their points have come from home games.

Forest (A) - Always tough against them. Even tougher at the City Ground.

Pigs (H) - Well..

I'm going for 10pts from that lot. The away games look very difficult.
12pts

On the other hand would anyone take 21 points ......... with the only defeat to the piggy bastards ???

Yeah, I'm OK with the condition that the last time we played them we lost, for 14 decades, as we are fighting for European places in the British platinum principle dogs bollocks league, whilst they are battling to survive in some shitty division 2 renamed league.

We will lose 1 and CW needs to be out.

Win 2 and he’ll be next England manager.

Tough run but no one really to fear in there. Reckon we'll get 12-16 points which I'll take if we avoid defeat to them.

I'd quite happily lose them all for a guaranteed 3 points against Wednesday.
They’ll love that comment on Porktalk.

Feck the Pigs, we’ll cross that hurdle when we’ve played the other 7 games, but personally I’d sooner get plenty of points in the bag before we play them win lose or draw.

We beat Blackburn 2-1 at their place in the Prem.

Not in 2006-7, we didn’t. We lost. I can still hear several hundred Blades fans behind the goal shouting, “Man on the post, man on the post!!” ... as their 90th minute(ish) free-kick winner went in (just about where a man on the post would’ve been).

Foggy as fook. Del Geary, left midfield. Bloody Warnock.

I was there but I could not for the life of me remember much of the game apart from Warnock(their left back at the time) getting sent off and Jon Stead scoring. Reading your reply has brought it all back and now I remember the lad stuck the free kick away but didn't he move the ball a few yards backwards from where the free kick should have been?

I'd take losing all the other games aslong as we win this one.

Pigs (H) -
