I remember when I was at secondary school and the pigs were in the PL a good few of my mates bought ST’s at the sty for about £75.

From memory there were fans of Arsenal, Newcastle and Man Utd and they picked and chose their games. I just used to tell them they were cunts for going.

I remember that Brum game, towards the end of the season I believe. There used to be a chippy close to where the Howard is, got talking to Brum fans in there post match. They were obsessed with Villa
Think there were 2 more home games left after that... Cardiff 5-1 night match and final day of season 3-0 Watford... I think?
Was it great timing or jumping on a glory bandwagon? Bring 8 pushing 9 at the time it was probably the latter but obviously long term the glory thing never worked out😆

Took my brother in law last year, about Easter time, to watch them play his team, Swansea. Took satisfaction having my blades socks on. Missed their goal getting beers in and enjoyed the equaliser. Apart from opening minute it was quiet and the football was dire.

28 years ago my auntie took 7 year old me to a Wednesday match having mistakenly thought I supported them and not the blades. She picked me up and I had blades scarf, bobble hat and shirt on over my coat and she didn't say anything. Get to the stadium and I've realised we're at the wrong stadium but she said it'll be fine. 5 mins later I've got grown men shouting in my face and throwing my hat around. Someone else spat on my shirt.

Reyt laugh that was.

You can but try 😂I’d struggle to remember too many games from that season but those last three home games stand out. The key one was the thumping of Cardiff. The Watford game was just a celebration. I got the same feeling from Ipswich home for our promotion to the Prem.

Several home games earlier we’d succumbed to a physical Hull side which seemed to hand them the whip hand in the promotion race. Think they collapsed after that and we just pushed on

I went once as a neutral in about 99. They surrendered meekly to a very ordinary Wimbledon side. 2-1 I think in the end.

Football team had some free tickets and was told it would look petty if I turned one down along with the offer of a lift.

It was the game Joe Kinnear had a heart attack at half time. A drab affair in a dreary stadium watched by dreary people.

I took my 14 year old grandson to the Sty as his dad who is also from the dark side, had to work. My grandson has a form of Autism so needs to be with someone when he goes out although he is getting better as he gets older and he asked me to take him so without hesitation i said yes.
I am 70 and have followed the Blades here there and everywhere in my time. I told a friend of mine who's a Blade and he said no way would he have taken anyone to Hillsboro under any circumstances.
I was amazed at his reaction. Surely love for your family comes before love for your football team.
We really enjoyed our day but i kept secret from him that i had a Blades vest under my shirt :).
Would you do what i did?
How did you cope wit the MASSIVE atmosphere and did you have to wear ear plugs for the noise? Hope you jumped up and went mad when QPR equalised.

As long as you’ve since burnt your shoes 😉

My granddad took me there in the 60s, was about 8 at the time, I think he was trying to convert me because my dad's side of the family were all Blades. Pigs were playing Leeds but lost 1nil. The thing I remember the most was on the way out of the stand the biggest cheer was when they found out United had also lost.
Disliked them ever since.
