Tommy Doyle

Doyle is a player I like. He isn't the biggest, but he's determined, can pass, tackle and is a good dead ball soecialst.

If Hamer leaves, he'd be a good replacement. Not as creative, but able to last 90 minutes.

Ying and Yang.

The obvious thing to do is for someone to come on for Peck with a large bid due to his potential and then replace him with Doyle, who has more output right now.

Him and Arblaster along with Souza would be an unbelievable midfield at this level.
Personally if we could get TD fit he would top lot

i doubt we will ever get tom davies fully fit for me if we could possibly get tommy doyle back at the club its a no brainer he fits us and we fit him
Doyle, together with O`hare, would provide excellent energy and skill for the team, but we would still need to sign someone with the size and physicality of Souza to compliment our midfield choices.

I hope we can keep both Souza and Peck, and bolster the squad with Doyle and one other midfielder. We were a bit light on numbers for too long last season and were playing catch-up in January.
Play-off Final losers often make a slow start the following season, and don`t get going properly for two or three months. We need to get the ins and outs sorted asap ready for a good pre-season, and hit the ground running.

yes cant disagree with that would then just need a hamer replacement for left side midfield rudoni is my tip for that role

We'll lose Hamer I reckon.
Newly promoted sides usually cherry pick the best Championship players, and at his age I dont begrudge him a move to be honest. He'll be the hardest to replace though. I dont know much about Rudoni, I assume the Gus money would cover him?
I love Souza but I think Blaster can fill the hole if he leaves (as long as Peck stays) but we still need cover/competition there too.

Only one possibility is Leeds but they. Won't pay what we want and we won't let him go cheap
Their budget apparently is 88 mil and that won't go far if they have tos pending 25 m on hamer who may or may not make an impact in a struggling team

Rudoni is a very good player.

He probably hasn’t got quite the same one off talent / technique to stick a free kick in from 25 yards like Gus has but he’s a lot taller, more athletic and mobile. He’s all action. Gets stuck in, pops up everywhere and works very hard. He’s quite different to Hamer but as effective in a different way.

Hes 5 years younger, taller, more athletic and they only signed him last summer for £5/6m. They’ll see themselves as our direct promotion rivals this season.

To get Rudoni in you’re probably looking at 15-20 million - it wouldn’t be an easy deal to do either as they won’t want to help us out at all.

I don’t know what the record is for championship to championship transfer fee is but imagine it would take a record to get Rudoni.

I’m sure if we look wide enough we could find someone similar for not much money.
This is the thinking of people who make sweeping assumptions without any facts to support their statements.
If these type of players were available at
"Not much money" then we wouldn't have to look "wide enough" they'd be available everywhere.

Clearly there are a number of clubs all looking for and at the same players and it’s not easy to find the unicorns, it doesn’t mean that they don’t exist.

What I mean by looking wider is that we maybe should look beyond the British Isles (and Ireland) and the best players from League 1 when we set out to find players.

2 of the players considered as our better ones in Souza and Anel came from places we wouldn’t normally look for players. We paid a combined £14m for the 2 of them and they should be worth a lot more if we sold this summer. If Wilder was manager when we signed both of these we wouldn’t have signed either in my opinion, they don’t fit his narrow definition of what a Blades player should look like.

Sounds more like a Leeds target than what Gus is to be honest.
*edit. I don't think Hamer is cut out for the Premier league. Maybe in an absolute elite team, but in lower level one I don't think he's big, strong, or athletic enough. I'm not saying everyone has to be like Souza, but there aren't many David Dunn's/Andy Reids left in the top flight anymore.
