Should Tom Hark by the Piranhas make a comeback as our goal music?

I love nostalgia, like most probably do on this forum? But being a 8 year old sat at the bottom of the Kop against Forest in a second leg play off semi-final, having just seen Kabba’s leveller for 2-2, and Tom Hark playing and everyone have a good knees up every time we scored is one of my oldest memories I have…and I still remember it like yesterday!

The question is.. should we leave the past where it is..and if so why? Or do we bring the famous goal music back and have it associated with the Blades once and for all?

The version of Tom Hark that most people recognise and is always used in these situations is the one by the Piranhas from the 1970’s.

I am ancient enough to remember the original version of this when it came out in around 1956 which was by Elias and his Zig Zag Jive Flutes , a band from South Africa which played a type of music known as Kwela .

It caused quite a sensation at the time , being so different from anything we had ever heard before and in my view is much superior to the cover version in terms of both the authenticity and simplicity of its presentation .

It will evoke great memories from your Childhood that will always flare up whenever you hear that song 🎵...
I'd say leave it that way and it will always be special to you .
It's Amazing how sounds & smells can transport you back to a bygone era
.......Oh mother I can feel the soil falling over my head , and as I climb into an empty bed 🛌

Got a good memory there Isaw. Impressed. I’ll seek that one out.

Every now and again, you'll hear it impromptu from the crowd after a last minute goal, or an important one where we just go into it without the music.

Much better IMO

I used to love it, but i was a child at the time. Remember when we were in League One and played Spurs in the cup? When Adams scored his second they played it and I felt like I was a young kid again, it was great to have that as a one off but I wouldn't want them to bring it back for every goal now, maybe I'm just a miserable adult now though.
