Tom Cannon and Jonjoe Kenny signed?

This is last nights news.

Deals agreed but neither player has agreed terms yet.
Basically we’ve 99% got both…..but no “confirmed” yet
And as we saw with the Jerome Sinclair deal a few year back…..things can still go pear shaped even when it’s 99% agreed.
The media expect everything to be sorted and officially announced later today.
No doubt Roy has his “view from” feedback comments all sorted, ready to post.
Don’t know anything about Kenny, so will be interesting to see the Hertha Berlin fan feedback comments.

We've "agreed a deal" with Leicester for Cannon. That deal has not been completed yet, still needs medical doing, personal terms agreeing with the player (although these shouldn't be too time-consuming).

Re: Kenny, it's the other way around. Personal terms are sorted, but fee with his club isn't agreed yet as I understand it.

We're close on them both according to the media, but not actually done deals yet.

Hi guys. I realise this is one we want to get over the line and suck but I’m afraid it just ain’t ready to pop yet. Give it another 24-48 hours and we will be reet.

Bild are usually well-informed. According to them Kenny has made his decision and wants to play their match against Hamburg on Saturday to say goodbye to their fans and then join next week and sign a contract until 2028.

Hertha need the money, so they probably won't stand in his way.

Fair enough, at least right back isn’t a priority position this week, so we can afford to wait.
Don’t know anything about him, is he highly rated? Is he rated in the German league?
He’s currently playing in their 2nd division so surely, can’t be that good?

Haven't seen much of him, to be honest, but he's highly rated by their fans. Seems like a leader on and off the pitch on top of being one of their better players.

Credit to HeySethUTB for this write up. In addition, German 2nd division is a decent division. Multiple clubs formerly mainstays of their top division who've fallen on hard times. Multiple clubs consistently pulling attendances higher than anyone in the Championship, and most in the Premier League to boot.

Even if done something tells me Wilder wouldn’t want anything announced prior to another big game tonight.

Totally agree.

He can’t play tonight anyway.

Would imagine Wilder will want to keep Hull City, Fridays opposition guessing.

So might all be signed but Wilder wants to wait until shortly before Thursday 12 noon deadline to register players for Fridays game, before any official announcement is made.

Knowing Wilder he might even leave it until late Thursday to make it appear we’ve missed the deadline for him to take any part on Friday.

If a deal is agreed it seems a bit risky to let him play for them at the weekend before completing it.

Get them announced, it will give Brewster the extra motivation he needs to play well and keep Cannon out the team 😂

It does seem risky, but if the player has set his mind on it, what can you do, I guess.

Another aspect that hasn’t been mentioned in that brilliant report from HeySethUTB is

1: Wilder often talks about having the right personalities/ characters at the club.
Would think Tom Davies will know Kenny from their days together at Everton…so he’ll be able to vouch for him regards his personality.

2: Like Cannon and Davies, Kenny is from Liverpool and has been living outside the UK for 6 years.
So he’s obviously decided to return to his motherland and will be keen to re-establish himself in the English game at top level.
He’s currently 27 years old (the right age, experienced but approaching his prime with a few years ahead of him)
This is the most important move of his career with a chance to establish himself in the Premier league.
So we can guarantee he will be highly motivated to succeed, he isn’t coming as back up and this move isn’t just about money either.

We're on the way to building a team of Scousers. That'll be Robinson, Davies, Kenny and Cannon! Time to bring Duffy, Dowell and Lundstram back?

Yeh with Jack O'Connell as fitness coach.

I reckon Kenny only wants to join us so he has the chance to play in Everton’s fantastic new 52K stadium next season ;)

Paul Beesley as a mentor to them all perhaps?! Lol!

I hope you know who I'm talking about here but you won't if you're under 30!

But we`re not in the PL ?

Lets not get all Wendy about things

Looked good as a kid at Everton. I was surprised they moved him on.

Got relegated with Hertha, so he didn't actually transfer to a second tier team, just stayed there.

Didn’t he ‘do a Tom Davies’ & decline a contract renewal ?
His ‘competition’ was Coleman @ the height of his powers (& skipper)
