Just isn’t a coincidence that McGoldrick started and we played better.

2nd half we looked like us, ball on the floor much more
Really? It's as long a ball game as I can ever recall us playing under Wilder. Played to our strengths though. Henderson played everything long and every throw went in the mixer. Not pretty but effective today, result notwithstanding.

We pushed for that winner and rightly so, it looked like it would come - then were hit with a counter sucker punch. Gutted.
That said, we were much better than recent performances and showed more ‘pre lockdown form’ particularly in the 2nd half.
Nice to see Sander and McBurnie put in strong showings.
& Bash won’t sleep after that header.....
Officiating was well below par. Spoiled the game.
Wrong result but much better Blades.

Shaper, quicker and much more positive today. Looked a lot more threatening. Not disappointed about the result.

Berge and Mcburnie played welll today both effective and so was Robinsons long throw. Hopefully we'll keep this momentum up in our remaining fixtures.

How annoying is Steve Mcmanaman!!

Every pundit BT Sport have is an annoying twat but he is up there with Michael Owen.

Looked more like the team we have had all season. I feel slightly more optimistic for the rest of the season.

Second half was more on the floor slicker first time passes first half granted more hoof

Now that both the cup and, by the looks of things, league are done, I'm hoping we can start experimenting a bit more - too many players give the impression they feel 'safe' in their position. And that shouldn't be the case - let's see what some of the others can do. Even Hendo shouldn't be safe.

If our team continues to get back into their stride (to me it appears they have started to today and in patches against Man U) then hopefully we can still finish in the top half of the table at least which would still be a great first season back!

The only downside is that after exiting the FA Cup we only have 7 games remaining now, so just as we're getting back to our best (slowly admittedly) we'll be stopping again next month for another long while!

Although I'm pretty sure (or if someone can correct me) that the gap between the end of this season and start of the next one is obviously going to be shorter than usual as next season apparently starts in either September/October time?

Absolutely brilliant performance today. Much much better. Especially Mcburnie and Berge.

Paul Tierney is a waste of oxygen and a disgrace to the human race.
Absolutely brilliant? What the fuck are you on? I want some.

We dominated Arsenal for 75 minutes of the game, created more chances, had the ball in the net 3 times, missed a couple of sitters, dictated the play and forced them to rely on pathetic refereeing to undeservedly go through. It was a great performance and deserved much more out of the game.

He was total gash first half, every time he got the ball - straight to an Arsenal player, woeful. Lucky not to be taken off at half time. Yeah, yeah, he scored the winner, only cos their goaly jumped out of the way or he'd have swallowed the ball.

It's taking a bit of time to get our well oiled machine warmed back up. We don't always start seasons that well anyway.

Hopefully it's starting to click back into gear.

Shame we are out of the cup though

I love McG but it's true, that shot from point blank range very nearly went straight into the keeper. Really happy for him though, hopefully this'll boost his confidence and he'll finally get that hattrick that he's due on Thursday

Not sure why 1 of 5 others in in the box did not try to close Ceballos, if they did Hendo is covering a tight angle for the second. At least we scored, but how did Bask miss that header?
When did Bash turn into a shark? 😉

Would a change in system make us more potent? Back 4 with 2 deep midfield playmakers that allow full backs to get forward and support forward 3?

Good performance, particularly second half.

Positives - Berge, McBurnie, Norwood and Robinson all looked good.

Negatives -

We really don’t look convincing as a defensive unit, we stand off and get caught the wrong side.

We are prone to a rush of blood at least once a game. Basham and Hendo today for either goal.

The touch of Enda, George and Fleck is slightly off. If they sharpen up we’ll look a lot better.

Hardly brilliant, much better than the last 2 games but that wouldnt have been hard
We were pretty direct and 2nd half was good, there are still too many players not up to their usual standards
the 2 full backs as well as Norwood and Fleck
Positives were Berge looked better, Robinson got forward more and McBurnie won some headers

If we could.find.a.way of playing mcburnie ,didsy AND a mousse type striker wed be in business

We dominated for 75 minutes? Seriously. We had the best of the opening 15 of the first half and outside of the offside had a few go across the goal but cant recall an effort on goal. Arsenal scored and then had 2 or 3 decent chances and Henderson made a few saves. We then had the first 15 of the second half and Bash missed a sitter (which was the other one). I am not sure we dictated the play outside of the the start of the game though. We caused them problems with a lot of long stuff and set plays but cant remember many good moves all game. Arsenal were no better than us really but moved it about more and looked more like scoring. Overall a draw was fair but they showed the composure and class to win it.

I am not sure the refereeing affected things to the degree some are making out. People are saying that is was a dive but then what does Egan do when we go down and score - when he gained the free kick? Can't have it both ways

It was a lot better but no way did we dominate or even create more chances. Their keeper did not make one save.

How annoying is Steve Mcmanaman!!

McManaman is a complete fucking bellend.

Their players are diving all over the shop every two seconds all game and he doesn't say a word. Basham gets kicked and he says "there's a lot of players going down on both sides today"..... FUCKING THUNDER-CUNT!

One of our players (Freeman?) got fouled near the touchline, totally cleaned out, and he said something along the lines of "that's not a foul, he turned the wrong way, if he turned the other way it would have been a foul". So there you have it, if you spin clockwise .. foul, but if you spin counter-clockwise, no foul. The rules of the game according to Steve McManaman.

He constantly says something, then says exactly the same thing slightly differently as though it validates his first point. For example, on David Luiz (just after 2 minutes into the game) ... "the problem is his concentration levels, and also his lack of concentration". That was so fucking dumb I was pissing myself laughing.

I know footballers tend not to be the brightest sparks, but at least most of them on Sky tend to be interesting and offer some insight. McManaman and Owen are boring, boring, boring people, both thick as fuck and can barely string two sentences together and surprisingly (considering their football experience) seem to have zero insight into the game.

How the fuck did they get the gig on BT Sport? Surely they did a screen test? Who listened to them and thought "yeah, these are the intelligent, insightful, interesting commentators we need to represent us". I actively avoid watching it when we're not on because I can't stand the commentary.

Once they bought the rights to Premier League football did they just run out of money to hire decent pundits?

He got that job literally because of his football career and nothing else.
