I watched the game on TV today and I learned a few things:

⚽️ Technically while behind closed doors you can watch the match through the roof

⚽️ They now only use one half of the pitch each half and only the team with a colourful shirts can kick towards the goal (the other team can kick the ball over bar only once during the game)

⚽️ Referees are still either fat or bald or a fucking Arsenal fan

⚽️ Managers are still either fat or bald or plastic

⚽️ There are as more commentators at the match than match officials

⚽️ Apparently, according to one of the commentators said you can see Barnard Castle from the top of the stands if your eyesight is good enough.

Here’s a photo of two fat ladies having fun

He was total gash first half, every time he got the ball - straight to an Arsenal player, woeful. Lucky not to be taken off at half time. Yeah, yeah, he scored the winner, only cos their goaly jumped out of the way or he'd have swallowed the ball.

he links up play, he gets in positions that we don’t pick up when it’s sharp and McBurnie. Just his movement alone pulls opposition defences apart. If you were to list our best performances of the season (Villa H, Burnley H, Spurs A, Man U H,Wolves A) he started all of them, and there’s no doubt yesterday was our best performance since returning by a mile.

maybe it is coincidence, but there’s compelling evidence that he just makes us tick, he picks up positions that we dont normally occupy without him. Plus, I have a vendetta against the Sharp McBurnie partnership, I find it painfully uninspiring! On that note, is it a coincident McBurnie has is best game in forever which alongside Didsy yesterday?

We miss McGoldrick enormously when he doesn't play.

We go too direct and the ball doesn't stick long enough for us to get up the pitch. Even when he's off form (first half yesterday), we look better for having him on the pitch.

The problem is, we can't keep relying solely on McGoldrick to get us up the field and hold it higher up the pitch. We need someone else who can perform his role & we need our midfielders to contribute a little bit more offensively. I'm hoping Berge, even as a deep lying midfielder, will eventually be a player confident enough to carry the ball into dangerous areas. We need stronger on the right hand side too.

Yet you've not beaten us and have been below us all season. Funny old game

He’s just a kent this guy pure and simple. Only comes on here to try and wind folk up. He’s Brighton’s internet troll! Some boy!

On the Pundit front.....

against Man Utd we had Gary Neville co-commentating

against Arsenal we had Robin Van Persie 'in the studio'.

Not very well balanced in my view.

I thought Freeman was introduced because CW felt Kieron might get an opportunity of getting in their six yard box.

All that hard work then Stevens goes and blows it, once gain.

'sake.
Stevens was in a 2 v. 1 situation and went with his man. Normally in a back 5 Robinson would have been the cover, but we had gone to a flat back 4. I wouldn`t call Stevens out for that one.

We dominated for 75 minutes? Seriously. We had the best of the opening 15 of the first half and outside of the offside had a few go across the goal but cant recall an effort on goal. Arsenal scored and then had 2 or 3 decent chances and Henderson made a few saves. We then had the first 15 of the second half and Bash missed a sitter (which was the other one). I am not sure we dictated the play outside of the the start of the game though. We caused them problems with a lot of long stuff and set plays but cant remember many good moves all game. Arsenal were no better than us really but moved it about more and looked more like scoring. Overall a draw was fair but they showed the composure and class to win it.

I am not sure the refereeing affected things to the degree some are making out. People are saying that is was a dive but then what does Egan do when we go down and score - when he gained the free kick? Can't have it both ways

It was a lot better but no way did we dominate or even create more chances. Their keeper did not make one save.
I don’t know Deadbat I think his Entitled to nuanced opinion , compared to yours
