If you do a twit search for Sheffield any time since we went up, you’ll notice Tweets about us outnumber grunts about the Pigs by between two and three to one, every day.

Well I for one wasn’t old enough to buy shares myself when the club was floated on the stock exchange, so had to inconvenience my mum by taking her to the bank to sort shares out from my savings. She, and the bank, did say it was a really bad investment, and warned me against parting with the money, but I was adamant it was the right thing to do and spent the money anyway. I’m pretty sure about a week after buying them Ebbrell had his career-ending debut, which seemed like quite a poetic parallel in terrible returns on investment.

The one or 2 that were to materialise last week still haven’t.....

We need 7/8 players, that’s basically 2 a week until the season starts and it’s looking like the majority of our signings won’t be with the squad in Portugal.

We can spin it whichever way we want, but it’s not the best preparation for the new season and the difficulties of staying up.

Wilder must be as frustrated as anyone we have failed to do ANYTHING so far. The likes of Norwich and villa have all made multiple signings - at some point it’s a cause for concern.

You’d have thought we at least be able to gazzump championship sides for signings.
