Obviously I'm very disappointed again but just thought I'd offer my view of it. I'll keep it brief as I don't doubt many will be writing lengthy tomes on our predicament as I type this.

Basically, I didn't think any individual had a shocker today. There were actually a couple of decent individual performances. The fact that the players played well, but we still hardly created a chance and didn't get the ball in good positions enough suggests it isn't the players. It is the system.

I don't understand all this talk of transition. We have played good, attacking football, with lots of movement as recently as the season before last and even the beginning of last season. We are not trying to change any ethos or do anything that hasn't been done before.

For me, there is no excuse whatsoever for this team not to grasp the simple concept of pass the ball, move into a more advanced space, receive it again and look for either another pass to a more advanced player or get a shot or cross off.

It can only be the manager's fault. He has no track record to suggest it will get better and he has given no evidence to suggest that he will arrest the slide.

To top it off, his flat out denial that we didn't really create any chances to Rob Staton now just took the piss.

In summary, please piss off Weir, you stubborn, clueless, enthusiasm-deficient failure.

We had some shots from distance, but to be fair Weir evaded Rob Staton's question about King getting no chances - he said we did have chances, which the 12 shots - 3 on target - would suggest. It's just that King didn't have any of those chances, as Robthenob pointed out.

Just posted something along the same line elsewhere. Football is much simpler that we're making out. It's an excuse for failure.

That really wound me up. He kept saying that he didn't want to single out an individual for criticism and it's the team's responsibility to score and create chances. What he was either too stupid to realise, or too stubborn to accept, is the fact that Staton was pointing out that we hadn't created the chances as a team.

We didn'tt create chances for King. But him moving just a little would have helped. He looks a month away from fitness, and Weir will be gone by then.

Creativity is the main problem. Infact probably the only problem.

The goals we've conceded lately have been our own doing. 3 at Rotherham and today were all fuck ups.

It's evident that the players are scared to try anything out of the ordinary like a 20yard shot or threaded through ball because the fans are there almost waiting for them to fuck up so they can whinge to anybody that's listening... And the ones that aren't listening

Wow, it's our fault now. Your apologising for the club surrendering last season's chance of promotion by flogging our top scorer was unbelievable. I think you might have just surpassed that.

So you think the atmosphere is helping? It's bitter to say the least.

I cannot believe how much shit Sheffield United fans have had to suffer. Another season is developing without a threat of entertainment. There are no fans in the world that would be more positive about this guff.

I haven't heard any shouts for the manager's head, though plenty want it accepted. He's really lucky there.

That's as laugable as Weir's post match comments. The fans have been incredibly patient given the absolute drivel we are having to watch

I think I have more knowledge from atom physics than the whole SUFC management and team has from football. We are rich we are rich we are rich.

You can blame the fans for a home loss but it doesn't hold any water for away losses.

It's the fans fault we're here. Ganging up in car parks etc. be careful what you wish for. Blackwell out chants. Wilson out chants. Should be careful what you wish for

For what it's worth - I don't think its weir out time, if we are still there end of nov then it is time to get someone in to go all direct as fuck but I'd stick with it for now because when good football works in this division it helps when you get promoted(Southampton and Norwich).

Difference being. They gave their strikers a chance

We don't play good football. We play negative, slow, predictable football that is so easy to play against. If Weir is still here at the end of Nov we will be 10 points adrift at the bottom.

Took the dog over the moors instead. And how much better was that than watching that load of crap in S2...

What? Most of the chances today were shots from 20-25 yards out, the others were headers flying over from corners, I think we maybe had one attempt from open play inside the box for the second handball penalty shout.

Don't know why people are complaining about King getting no chances. Last I heard people were complaining that we didn't have anyone who could play up top with the strength to hold the ball up and bring others into play, which he seemed to be doing to some extent. Looking at someone's contribution through sorting by scorepoints is frequently misleading

Serious question - Do you think this will lead to good football? We discussed this after the match. I am struggling to see any good football in what we are trying to do. Take a moment and think about what you have seen today and ask yourself this question and can you see it?

we wished for the removal of incompetent managers. this was achieved.. not the fans fault when mccabe then went and compounded his original mistake

What a great idea it was sacking those managers. Blackwell never finished in the bottom half. Don't think he finished lower than 10th.

Wilson had lost 7 in 41 games last season. We've lost 6 already. Great decision.

Whilst I didn't like Weirs post match comments today or out lack of creativity, sacking him in September is not the answer.

While I agree the Blackwell sacking was short-sighted being only 3 games into the season, and the Wilson removal was comical in it's timing, that doesn't mean to say that Weir should be given time to leave us adrift and broken. Having kept Wilson with some money to spend may well have seen us in a better position now, but does us having previously got rid of managers mean that we should simply wait and wait and wait some more now, potentially compounding the current problem through excessive overcompensation from what has gone before?

I think that when you have a team who started the season bankrupt and on -10 pts who are now above us, playing well, scoring for fun and flying, questions need be answered. Yes, he is trying to change the style of play - but it isn't working. We have changed from having a winning style of play to a losing style of play. Is there really any mileage in trying to change it if it doesn't work, doesn't produce results, doesn't show any signs of life or improvement, and ends up with us being already dangerously off-the-pace and in risk of the entire season turning into one long relegation dogfight?

Christ - even Micky Adams is doing better with a promoted Port Vale side than we are!

If Wilson had this team we'd be top. There's no doubt Weir has strengthened the squad, he's just finding it tough. That will come with experience. Did we really expect promotion this year? We'll still finish there or there abouts round play offs. Next year we'll be a force

I expected us to be competitive. We are the whipping boys of the 3rd tier at the moment.

I didnt expect us to be looking at relegation unless there is drastic change.
