My niece's foreign boyfriend was supposed to be going alone today but at the last minute her family, three of them, decided they would like to go to. Couldn't buy any more online, so called the ticket office this morning. A strict "one ticket per account" policy is in operation, and each account must have 200 loyalty points. Only my niece has an account but without loyalty points, so I wasn't able to buy any more tickets. The bloke I spoke to was unwilling or unable to set up new accounts.

So basically it's impossible to buy tickets on the day for potential new fans. They're turning fans and income away

If anyone has three spare account numbers with loyalty points please PM me as that's the only way to buy three tickets for new fans apparently

Sounds like it’s a case of Villa having sold out and to stop their fans going in the home end.

To be fair, it does say that on the website, annoying though it is and it does stop Villa fans buying them I guess.

So you bought your niece's boyfriends ticket as one of your friends and family ? She has an account but with no points ?

Daft question but can't you add extra people to yours ?

EDIT - Just spoke to ticket office again. Strict rules are in place because Villa sold their allocation and their fans are looking to pick up home tickets. All you need is the name of an account holder for each ticket you buy, you don't need any other details. I have tickets now.

It only stops Villa fans buying them on the day.
Any of them wanting to get a ticket would have got one before now.
Crazy and short-sighted if you ask me.
Why not just ask for id with an address on it?

I used to produce that at Elland Road if I couldn't get a ticket from BDTBL.

Not everyone lives in their clubs home town and even if you do there's a good chance that you will have relatives/friends that don't.

Let's face it M, any Villa fans who couldn't get a ticket on Bramall Lane and really wanted to go will have got in.
I've done it myself on numerous occasions.

Like home teams should do for United games in London, Nottingham or Manchester for instance?
