Ticket office yet again - can we get together on this one??

I sit on John Street and have bought play-off tickets no problem today.

I can honestly say I don't have a bad word to say about the ticket office - always respond to email queries promptly, resolve issues quickly and the online ticket site is a life saver.

You can purchase your own seats but try buying a seat near you for a relative. You cant

I wish I had done it earlier mate I really do - it's what I do .. Me last minute ! Never learn but thanks . .. Also will email ticket office re online gremlin... Feel better already thanks

Haha, I normally do everything at the last second too, Im just gloating because for once I have done it early

Something that does annoy me about the online system is that it automatically selects all your friends and family that are linked and assumes your renewing all of them. Ive come very close to spending over £3000 by accident with it.

all this talk about tickets has reminded me I better buy playoff tickets though so no doubt this system Ive just been defending will try to screw me over

This is the problem i have regularly. Normally with fairly short notice, so it gets to the point where i can't get to the ground and i don't have time to call while at work either, so i can only buy it in person on matchday when it's more expensive. The great thing is I'm buying for another adult and there's no kids with us now I'm all grown up, but they never once question it anyway, so why can't I do the same thing online?

I agree the online system is the way forward though. Now remove the card fee like you have the direct debit interest.

Renewed my ST and bought the play off ticket a few days back took about 2 mins online, I have never had a problem with the ticket office but the official web site ..........OH dear that is awfull, it reminds me of a one armed bandit with flashing lights and stuff going off all over the place to distract you. To someone not used to using it then it must seem like they have been thrown into a kids video game with a plot like Tomb Raider when trying to navigate it. I can see why people are put off trying to buy tickets online some people younger than myself are not computer savvy so what chance to the older fans have ? Only chance for them is to go in person or get ripped off on a premium rate phone line SUFC really must do something about this (is it legal ?) and get local rate land lines installed ASAP.

I agree and posted something similar a couple of days ago.

It seems evident from the long queues that people are unable to navigate the online system - which I think is very badly designed. It would take a long time to go into detail.

The online system is very difficult to get into - though once connection is established it generally works.

For instance at the moment it's not accepting new registrations.

Very hard to get all the different problems in writing.

I don't know what I was doing wrong online but couldn't sort out my renewal. Prompted to click "renew" season ticket and when on the purchase page I couldn't work out how to renew when my seat on the plan wasn't available to renew, because it was spoken for ..............by me of course

I knew I must be doing somat wrong, but could I fk suss it out.

Ended up ringing bang on 9.00am 2 days ago and was caller number 2 ..................thank fk!

Short answer to the question - will respond properly later - these issues have been raised multiple times and some of which are still ongoing.

The phone lines are "in progress" and I'm going to feedback in more detail on online ticketing again in the next few weeks. Will let you know the response/results.

Whilst I have no problem sorting them myself, there are many pitfalls/daft issues with the systems in place.

You did the same as me clicked on the ST page which shows your seat taken, you have to go to another page to renew, easy mistake to make the website is utter shite.

Better get comfy for this one.

Two days running I have had cause to get really frustrated by our rubbish ticket office .

Let me start by saying I don't do online with sufc - I have just given up with it due to so many access problems , password issues whatever ..and also I haven't helped myself here entirely ..

So yesterday I thought .. Nip down to the lane around lunchtime (30 min journey) .. Renew ST 's and get back . I had about 90 mins spare to do whole thing. Arrived to see large queue all the way to the shop . Got in said Q chatting to a few .. Some buying play off tickets ( I will come back to that ) .. Some ST renewals.. Wait in q 40 mins and move about 20 metres so have to bin it. Jump in car immediately ring ticket office whilst driving back .. Caller 17 . Drive home still connected to ticket office .. 1 hour total wait I finally get sorted.
Now today .. For complicated reasons I didn't know if I could make the play off home leg until late last night hence why I couldn't sort them on the same phone call as yesterday .
So I phone up at 8.59am and it's shut then just redial and at 9 am on the dot I connect and I am caller 12 !!!!! How the actual f*** can that be. Just the 35 mins today !!!
What a joke.
And so leaves me thinking / posing the question can we make some form of joint forum representation to united IF as I suspect loads of people have problems ... Question for the adminstrators has anything like this come up before ? If not I will just email the club politely staying frustration.
They must realise that on the last day or two of ST early bird and first days of play off ticket release they need more staff !!!!
Rant over thanks for listening !

When I first started trying to buy online seem to remember having problems with passwords, certainly worth sticking with it and sorting it out it'll save on money, time and stress levels in the long run. As some have already mentioned, email the ticket office when it's not so busy.

The one thing that does irk me is the fans getting fleeced on the telephone when having to wait ages, either the charge should only kick in when you speak to someone not when you're waiting, or lets have an 0114 number. £1.50 for a 30 minute wait fair enough, £20, £30 on the current number isn't on.

I spoke to ticket office last month and they are upgrading the online ticket system which will include;
To buy seats in all areas of the ground. Including john street.
Changing the james Morrison song on the telephones
When tickets has been purchased it will let you know if anyone on you row is going to go for a piss and a pie during game.

I guess the phone lines are in progress as it will be illegal from June not to supply an alternative 01 or 03 number to the premium line. So come next season this will be resolved.

e-mail them your telephone number, vaguely (but politely) complain about the 0871 number, wait 5 minutes and someone will call you back. ;)

Overall, I think the online ticketing is great - my only bugbear is the error messages or general information messages it throws up when selecting people/tickets etc that are not user-friendly at all; they need some work customising them.

My only gripe with the online system is that you only have 5 minutes to check out completely once you've added a ticket to the basket - you only have to be distracted or hesitate for a minute or two and by the time you've put your card details in, it throws up the error... Happened when buying my season ticket and I had to wait about 20 minutes for the seat to show up as available on the system again.

I know they can't give unlimited time but 10 minutes would be more realistic, or maybe have it that you have 5 minutes after adding to basket to start checkout rather than complete the whole thing...

Would be particularly helpful when doing multiple tickets in one go - I know they recommend do one game at a time on the system but would be far easier not to have to.

It's pretty easy to use but at same time glad I'll only have to for away tickets next season.

Queued overnight at the lane last night for tickets to the play-off winners bus parade party as I couldn't find the option online, it's getting ridiculous - clough out!

Stopped reading after your 2nd line. Is life really this hard for some people.

I explained in the OP that if must have a gremlin in my computer - it literally never works on line ..
Also not everyone does online there's loads of people who go in person or ring up

have you therefore not answered your own gripe....

usually when we have "big games" they stagger it, however that hasnt been possible with the play off tickets given that there has only been a week to purchase them. "loads of people go in person or ring up"

The season tickets have been on sale for a while... (why do people wait until the last possible second to renew and the blame the club? it would be like waiting until the last moment to buy a concert ticket then moaning when they all sold out) is that also SUFC's fault?

People will say I couldnt afford it... If you cant afford it there is interest free credit to spread the cost.. so thats not really an excuse, (they dont have to)
People will say they needed to wait for payday... its also not like the season has suddenly come to an abrupt end.... the end of the season has been placed for nearly 10 months... and clubs generally start next seasons "season tickets" a month or so before the end of the season.... so why not think about it from the last pay day...

the club have provided an online facility which many people are using (imagine the queue if this wasnt there....)
they have increased the number of pay points in the box office, thus allowing more people to be served at once...

they cannot however control the number of people who leave it until the death.... thus swamp the club at once...

You need to stop playing porn at the same time. It can lead to these distractions with a credit card in the other hand.
