Better get comfy for this one.

Two days running I have had cause to get really frustrated by our rubbish ticket office .

Let me start by saying I don't do online with sufc - I have just given up with it due to so many access problems , password issues whatever ..and also I haven't helped myself here entirely ..

So yesterday I thought .. Nip down to the lane around lunchtime (30 min journey) .. Renew ST 's and get back . I had about 90 mins spare to do whole thing. Arrived to see large queue all the way to the shop . Got in said Q chatting to a few .. Some buying play off tickets ( I will come back to that ) .. Some ST renewals.. Wait in q 40 mins and move about 20 metres so have to bin it. Jump in car immediately ring ticket office whilst driving back .. Caller 17 . Drive home still connected to ticket office .. 1 hour total wait I finally get sorted.
Now today .. For complicated reasons I didn't know if I could make the play off home leg until late last night hence why I couldn't sort them on the same phone call as yesterday .
So I phone up at 8.59am and it's shut then just redial and at 9 am on the dot I connect and I am caller 12 !!!!! How the actual f*** can that be. Just the 35 mins today !!!
What a joke.
And so leaves me thinking / posing the question can we make some form of joint forum representation to united IF as I suspect loads of people have problems ... Question for the adminstrators has anything like this come up before ? If not I will just email the club politely staying frustration.
They must realise that on the last day or two of ST early bird and first days of play off ticket release they need more staff !!!!
Rant over thanks for listening !

Called someone at the Lane yesterday ,he said queue was to the shop ,went on line ,bought tickets in less than 2 minutes ,whats the problem with that ?
I explained in the OP that if must have a gremlin in my computer - it literally never works on line ..
Also not everyone does online there's loads of people who go in person or ring up

You should do it online. So much easier. Renewed my season ticket and bought a play off ticket in around 3 minutes.

The only problem with online (doesn't affect me like) is if you sit on the John Street Stand.

As stated above. That's the only issue I can see with online purchases

And that's not a problem for Koppites I am relieved to say. I agree that if there is a problem then a united approach might work, giving it credability. But fortunately/unfortunately I have never had any problem whatsoever buying tickets. I mostly buy online, by phone and went to the club to get my season ticket. I read how frustrating it is for others on the forum, but from a personal point of view I'd have to give them 10/10. Wonder why the inconsistency?

Sorry yes must read more thoroughly!
It really gets me irate tho, been trying to buy a ticket for the Chesterfield match all week, have probably spent more than the tickets cost in phone calls (call rate unknown / unpublicised!?) and certainly in time spent having my aural senses assaulted 'let me hold you' 'the quickest way to buy your tickets is online' NO AND ******* NO

two easy solutions.
Allow online ticket buying for family stand for members
Put in a local phone number, or at least publicise how much they're ripping you off for.

I sympathise. I have given up on buying tickets over the phone because I have too many long wait stories. I dont think its right but they dont seem to want to do much about it.

I'm no digital native but buying online is good now and if you have an issue an email to the box office ([email protected]) usually sorts things out.
Why not email and tell them yr problem??

That 9am fastest finger first is an irritant, went cut off/cut off/caller 17 for Orient tickets last week (which weren't online only so the club can get paid for me being on hold for 45 minutes it seems)

You can't do it online for the family stand

I've never understood that. If the online system can cope with loyalty point restrictions then why can't it cope with the John Street ticket restrictions (ie you can only buy tickets if you've got an u16 with you)?

I just have

I'm guessing you mean renewed your season ticket or bought your season ticket seat for play off match, and I'm glad to hear they are able to look after season ticket holders as well they should.

But you cannot buy a match ticket for John Street for the chesterfield match without having the piss taken out of you. It's unnecessary and pisses me off every time.

Ive never had a prob with the ticket office other than the fact they put the prices up on match day. Went the other day to pick my mate up a ticket for chessy game and had to wait about 5 mins

If I were you I would renew your ST earlier rather than 2 days before the deadlione. You say SUFC should know it will be busy and put more staff on but if you know that why dont you do it a few days earlier.

Can you still send a letter? That used to be a great way to jump all the queues and avoid the anoying phone

I wish I had done it earlier mate I really do - it's what I do .. Me last minute ! Never learn but thanks . .. Also will email ticket office re online gremlin... Feel better already thanks

Because you get people buying kids tickets online as they're cheaper than adult tickets

Mrs Silent queued for 75 minutes today to get the play offs tickets. I had forgotten that today was the last day for Season Tickets discount (I have already done that weeks ago)

Never ever had a problem in getting tickets either online or walking into the ticket office. The ticket office staff have always been more than accommodating when changing seats for season tickets, getting tickets for people to sit near me or changing tickets. Very helpful and friendly.

I suppose at busy times you have to wait but then again it's unpredictable like any service where you get walk in customers. I once had to queue in Cole Brothers for 10 minutes at Christmas time. Nightmare.

If you can be arsed, do it online rather than bashing your keyboard to bits complaining about a perfectly useable online sales service ;)

I agree and posted something similar a couple of days ago.

It seems evident from the long queues that people are unable to navigate the online system - which I think is very badly designed. It would take a long time to go into detail.

The online system is very difficult to get into - though once connection is established it generally works.

For instance at the moment it's not accepting new registrations.

Very hard to get all the different problems in writing.

Online not a problem bought play off tickets x 4 and renewed my ST all in the family stand
The problem if you are not a ST holder and trying to purchase online I would assume is the proof you have a child with you
to avoid hassle I would probably sit elsewhere where there are no restrictions

I've made similar journeys across the city bc I couldn't do what I needed to online, and I am very familiar with online systems.

In my experience sometimes an email will work, but I appreciate all issues can be addressed in that way, and I have had emails ignored before now.

I just have

This demonstrates the problem with the system. One poster says something can't be done, the other says they've just done it.

I suspect I know what's happened here - but the very fact that there's such a fundamental difference of opinion over a really basic function means the system is poorly designed imo.

I live in Leeds so can't call in so use online facility. Never had a problem and if I've ever had a query, an email to the ticket usually sorts my query out.

It would be worth persevering with the online system, it really would.

The only time I need to phone is if I'm buying a ticket for my daughter who comes to games about once a month and wants to sit with us or if I want to activate my grand daughter's junior Blade card. We're on JSS

You can't if you're not a season ticket holder as I think you need to prove that you have a youngster going with you if you are just buying tickets on an ad hoc basis

Yes that's what the ticket office say, but I cant understand why activating membership cards is any different to renewing season tickets, however one can be done on line at the customers (and the clubs) convenience, yet the other has to charge you £20 £30 £40 in phone call costs, doubling the price of the tickets.

It's shit.

Probably because a membership is a general thing and not specifically for one part of the ground - perhaps?

I sit on John Street and have bought play-off tickets no problem today.

I can honestly say I don't have a bad word to say about the ticket office - always respond to email queries promptly, resolve issues quickly and the online ticket site is a life saver.

Here's a suggestion for those having problems with the online system:

Sort it out before you need to use it. Make sure you're set up (and linked all you family/friends' customer numbers successfully) over the summer or in a quiet part of the season when there won't be high demand for match tickets/ST renewals and the ticket office is running at full capacity in person, over the phone and by email.

The common problem seems to be that at peak periods (cup quarters/semis, ST renewals & playoffs) everyone thinks "I'll do it online" then when they realise they don't have things set up and can't figure it out or get an instant response from the club, the only option is to queue up in person or call the number and spend the ticket price again on the phone call, because there is an urgency to get the tickets booked ASAP.

Remember what happened to you this week and sort it out in June before you find yourself in the same situation the next time we have a game with high demand.
