The quote form McCabe at the time was its a great design because we can be totally flexible regards away allocations. I automatically assumed that we could close certain doors in the concourse areas but it doesn't seem to be working like that.

Wonder what the official story is on this because it does seem weird how there are so many empty seats which could be sold. Next season several teams could bring 3 to 4,000 meaning we have the chance to fill our stadium. So away allocations and segregation becomes really important and could cost us £1000's of lost revenue.

If we didn't have that Enterprise centre or whatever it is we could have extended into the JS corner and then BL lower might have been big enough to house the 10% of total capacity we have to give to away fans. Then keep BL upper for Blades.

I thought it was a bit less than that and we were a couple of hundred short. I don't think Championship requirements are any more onerous so I guess next season we'll just allocate BL lower. I suppose unlike the PL we probably won't sell as many home tickets but there may be situations where the away team could sell out upper and lower which is when we could have problems.
Plenty of time for the club to work it out though.

The club need to invest a bit of time, effort and cash in providing solutions to any issues raised, in terms of segregation. It'll pay for itself after a few games of additional revenue.

Longer term, careful consideration for expanding the ground is required. We can't leave it too late, as if the Kop is redeveloped first, that is likely to be 10.5k seats taken out for a reasonable length of time. It therefore may make sense to pursue expanding the South Stand first, due to the commercial benefits this would result in (more executive boxes) and limited disruption to current stand.

As someone who has bought today, I will simply say that I was lazy and thought I'd be able to get one a couple of weeks ago but when I looked they'd sold out.

Not that I need to explain myself or give my Bladey Blade credentials. It's odd that people actually buying tickets are getting more abuse than the Blades not actually going at all (who don't deserve abuse either).

The police try any excuse to restrict away fans at the Sheffield derbies.
It seems like based on SY Police concerns Sheffield must be the hooligan capital of the UK. Why is that?

I'm sure McCabe was saying that with the plans in place to bolt an extra 3,200 seats at the back of the Kop it meant relatively minimal disruption, think we'd lose at most 5,000 seats.

I believe most of the Kop would remain open whilst building work was being done, probably close only the back of the Kop.

The main serious work, roof extension, removal of posts would be done over the Summer.

If they scrapped the previous plans, cleared the land and built a totally new stand THEN we would lose 11K seats for probably 2 years.

The pigs have no right to be indignant as they were a part of the problem . SYP and The Safety Advisory Group meanwhile are attempting to show the world that they've learned their lessons .

Complete bollox of course as aside from attempting to minimise the action thats coming their way , their complete lack of understanding of crowd dynamics at football matches is grossly highlighted by the fact that no other regulatory body in the UK restricts attendances in the way they do .

So, because Hillsborough is a death trap, SWFC were complicit in the disaster and SYP are, well, the less said the better, we are being roped into this sordid affair by association, i.e., of simply coming from the same city. Im sure plenty on here will recall the actions of Sheffield Councils Safety Advisory Group following a visit to Bramall Lane just after the disaster . They were going to prevent a game of ours going ahead because they'd found a couple of weeds growing on the Bramall Lane Away End Terracing .

Now fast forward to a time , now , when SYP's integral part in causing the disaster is known throughout the land . Expect more of what we are seeing now .

The quality of our football. It's brilliant and people are taking notice. We'll have very big crowds next season. The fixtures are infinitely more attractive and we're a massive club.
