Your mam.
Ok, so we've all had a gripe about what annoys us about being a Blade, which is something we do really well. But what about the things you love about it? I suspect this thread will be significantly shorter, btw.

I'll start it off with two items:

I find the banter among Blades is much funnier than other fans. We have a real talent at gallows humour.

The way some people pronounce United. I don't think anybody else in the country pronounces the word "you-nited".

Kinda like you Tarqs. Love the banter down in Sheff, love the people, love London Road after the game. It means a bit more as we don't live there, and thus our match-days are visits and 'days out' so to speak. Makes it a bit more special for me and the kids doin' the things, I guess, many other Blades take for granted.

Shame (this season at least) such enjoyable days were, for the most part, spoilt by the football ;) LOL. But seriously, it's primarily the reason I'll still keep coming down...

UTB!

The fact that we are the red team rather than the blue one.

There's also the feeling of an ongoing connection from the culture from whence one came which in some ways never changes, the remaining connection with your childhood as it were.

Makes me proud to support a team no one in Canada has ever heard of. Even the other ex-pats are Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea fans. No one chooses to support Sheffield United; Sheffield United chooses you! ;):(

I know at least 2 expat Blades on Vancouver Island and then theres my family out there who definitely know about us because they take the mic out of me and my dad quite often about how well we're doing.

I have only very rarely met a Blade I couldn't get on with. Funny as fuck most of 'em.

The continuation of a culture, certainly.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

For the glory.

Well, for everything else anyway. For not being a piggy.

For the hell of it.

I don't have a second team. I don't need one.

The kit, the badge and the fact that SUFC chose me rather than I picked a team to support. Inherited tradition and the gallows humour that goes with it, special if perpetually disappointing!

Not a lot I like..it's all a bit cr@p to be fair. There's a lot I love though if that's any consolation (to me)

the certainty

of knowing that even if we win the premier league by 20 points and beat man utd 6-1 fans like micaljo will be in here moaning about the goal we conceded

Too right too.

If we ever win the Premiership lets at least do it in style and not concede soft goals. ;)

It's never dull being a Blade is it? As others have pointed out, the culture of the club is another draw.

One of the best things, IMO, about being a Blade is the good feeling we get over 'little' victories. After years of such sh*t and disappointment, we celebrate any little snippet of success more than other similar clubs.

e.g. 4-3 Play Off Semi Final win over Forest - forget the 3-0 humping from Wolves in the Final!

A sense of belonging. As many of the others have said, the Blades chose me, I didn't choose them. Also it's about connections for me. I've met some, mainly, cracking people through the Blades, and most of all, it will always connect me to my Grandad. We are pretty close, mainly I believe beacause of the Blades.

How could I support any other club?!
