“Under the leadership of Marcelo, I think we’re more than capable of staying up. You look at Sheffield United, they’re an organised team and their tactics are detailed. We’re hoping we can do the same, if not better.”

I work with a few Leeds fans and they all use us as the measuring , if you can finish 9th we’re gonna up there too , their other popular misconception is because they played well in a cup match against Arsenal that they still lost incidentally this proves their theory .
I think they’ll be in for a rude awakening myself , instead of looking at ourselves they ought to have looked at Norwich & Villa

They're a different breed. We could all do with a little bit of whatever they're on. But their arrogance and self entitlement is nauseating. A great Championship season rarely translates into a good PL one. For every "look at Sheffield United" their are dozens of counter examples which they ignore. We will see.

To me " You look at Sheffield United, they’re an organised team and their tactics are detailed. We’re hoping we can do the same, if not better" suggests they HOPE they can match us, not that they are any sort of certainty to do so.

The fans might be different, I haven't got time to search any out and find out, but there's nothing from his comments, as a player, to get excited about.

There fans are full of themselves. The amount of Leeds fans I’ve seen saying them finishing top half is a given is crazy. I really hope it all comes crashing down and there sent packing back to the championship.
This isn’t 1973 anymore!

I think they will finish both in the top 10 and higher than SUFC. Hope i'm wrong.

Based on what? There's this bizarre feeling they'll be spending 200m+ on players when the evidence suggests it'll be far from that. If they had cash to burn, why haven't they spent it in the championship?

Creative side. Players comfortable on the ball and quality in midfield.

However, question marks at the back need sorting and see how that impacts on them.

They will do well. add to that the promotion bounce we had and consistency of playing their system for two years and I’mconvinced they stay up easily and finish above us unless we get recruitment spot in.

What Grizzly blade said ☝ ☝

I just feel their high press, high intensity game will be a great asset in the PL.

If they go and do a Fulham or Villa and overhaul their squad, it won't work. If they add to it in the places required, they could be a strong prospect.

35 conceded in 46 games in 2019/20 is outstanding (for comparison, we conceded 41 in 2018/19) but the biggest single issue they have is that they'll need to replace Ben White at centre half as there's no chance Brighton will sell him. Cooper isn't Premier League class but I can see them bringing someone in from abroad who'll do well.

This will come back to bite me but I'd be amazed if they're not comfortably mid-table at the end of next season.

I genuinely think that next year, outside of the daft teams spending £40m+ on individual players is going to be a bit of a lottery. Short pre season, no fans again etc.

Leeds could finish anywhere from 8th to 18th and I wouldn't be that shocked. I'd say the same goes for United (I don't think we'll go down)

Touve heard of FFP and profit and sustainability right? That’s why they haven’t spent still if indeed they have that kind of money.

As it is I don’t believe they will spend those sums, but what they will spend will be on areas they are weak, like we did. Their starting 11 won’t change much, again like us, but they will be quality.
Bielsa is a good manager.

Exactly. Cooper is poor and White has gone. Plus I don’t rate Ayling or Dallas defensively either.

Sounds like norwich to me ;)

I'd be very surprised if Leeds go down, because they're a good team. Not individuals, a team. That's why they can be compared to Blades in a way.

Although Bielsa's small squad might be an issue if they have injuries, or more than a few players that fail to make the step up.

What's he said wrong? I don't get this thread

Agree...to be honest there are similarities between Sheff Utd and Leeds United.

They have the same players that finished mid table before Bielsa arrived....so individually can’t be the best.
Leeds as a team are much better than their individual parts.
They work hard...close down the opposition as a team...and play to rigid well coached tactics.

I think it’s important that Leeds copy our transfer style.
Basically keep the same team (like Wilder....Bielsa generally played the same 11 each match) but make a few quality additions.
I don’t think they’ll finish top half but reckon they’ll keep well clear of the relegation places all season.

What are you doing?! Don't let the truth get in the way of rabid click bait 😂

What Leeds have got in their advantage is a good manager with a set system of playing. We also have this and have done well.
If you've got a good manager with a plan, you put yourself in a better position than the majority of the Premier League.
If they use their defensive record as the bedrock like we did, they should do well.
I don't expect them to finish as high as we did this year simply because I don't expect as many teams to under-perform like they have this year - Chelsea will be stronger, Man Utd have looked a different beast since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, Spurs are starting to look like a Mourinho side (crap to watch, but picking up points), Arteta's getting to grips with Arsenal, Wolves don't have to play on Thursday nights etc.

Bet they were thinking that just before Bash slotted home too!!
Deluded twats.

You're right mate, that's been my experience too.
They epitomise arrogance and bring shame to the rest of Yorkshire with their gobshite entitled views.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them start well, but they are susceptible at the back and Bamford is not good enough for the prem.In which case they might get a spanking or three.
Hope so.😉

From watching them a few times over the last 2 years they have a hell of a lot of possession in their games, so much so that the defence never really comes under a sustained amount of pressure, I don't think they will have anywhere near as much possession in the Premier league so i'd be concerned if I was them whether their defence is up to holding out for long periods of the game. We showed we could do that in the championship against Leeds away, West Brom away and Brentford at home, we have had to do it this season and we've done it well. Lets see but i don't see them with Cooper, Ayling and that dodgy keeper being able to grind out results when they come under a lot of pressure. If he signs new players for his defence 4 weeks is not a long time to work on shape and get them up to speed.

I think that if they try and play like they did in the championship they'll struggle, they won't be dominating possession and I don't rate their defence and they simply won't be able to keep up their high energy game all season, they could struggle but bottom half I think (below us obviously!)
