Too much white = Southampton/Stoke

We need some sort of black pinstripe, all my faves have the thin black stripes between the thicker stripes.

Don’t mind away but a bit bland

Like them both.

Third kit will obviously follow for away trips to Liverpool, Southampton, Arsenal....

You never please everyone, I think that pink away shirt will probably sell well, I will be getting one. Purple and gold Midas shirt anyone?
Pink? Fucking pink?

I saw a bit of Everton v Leicester last night and the one thing that really stood out was that fucking awful pink Leicester away shirt.

Absolutely no way on this earth will I buy a shirt like that, in fact I wouldn't even wear it if they were paying me to do it!

They're all templates. Bit strange that Deadbat is doing a podcast on kits and doesn't realise this.

No offence Deadbat

I probably worded it badly - Adidas make some nice kits but you are right they are lazy and don't tend to do many individual designs or use a basis and then adapt. I cant recall seeing too many home kits like out 17-18 one for instance so they can show some originality but too often they shoehorn a kit from a template or often just use a template completely. We always seem to get the kid a year or two after (Leicester and was it Livingston before we got also (the yellow one we had a few years ago).

They have done original kits though - John Devlin who knows a lot more than me or you about kits has alluded to this before but mostly they use one design and adapt - we are never going to veer from this as for a big company it makes it easier. You don't get the quality with smaller companies but at least they can be a bit more original.

Umbro made a lot of similar designs but did so some unique stuff for clubs too. Still my favourite kit maker in their heyday.

Also as others have said- you do wonder who in the SUFC marketing dept has given it the ok - knowing the reaction we will get from across the city with the pigs thing. Maybe we should not care but it will make us ripe for a laugh.

Hope these aren't real, they're a bit wank.

They just don't look like United kids.

Can't we get back to some solid red and white stripes with a bit of black trim and minimal faff?

Home is 100% real. Can't speak for the away but as it's dropped on the same day, and as this guy said two weeks ago, I have no reason to doubt it 👇👇

I’ve been told by someone who works at Bramall Lane, the away kit is pink.

Not impressed if right

Home -

Positives are the thickness of the stripes and red in the middle. The middle part is fine but need to see the collar and back of course.

Negatives - I don't like the sleeves at all. Too much white on our shirts never works. We are more red if anything and any trim on the sleeves or solid colour needs to be red or even black. More white makes me think of Stoke or Southampton when it comes to the design.

Away -

Positives- New colour. Like us to try different things and move away from always doing lime or white. No problem with pink either. The colour itself being quite adventurous means it needs to be simple and fresh. So no probs with how it looks.

Negatives - Template kit and lazy in the senn Leicester got a pink adidas away already. Like we are the hand me downs ...a kid brother. Leicesters has the Germany
1990 design incorporated too so is better than purs. We just get a template catalogue one. Its quite dull in the sense the pink seems too dark and not vibrant enough. Also surely this clashes with red making it a kit we can't really wear much. Maybe get away with v Southampton but Liverpool, Arsenal etc it won't work.

Overall not keen and a big drop off from this season ...will rate these on our final part of our kit podcast (caveat being these are not confirmed)

I've made my thoughts clear many times on Adidas shirts. Good quality shirts, I'll give them that, but awful designs for home shirts, away shirts better but we don't have a away colour as such so they can do what they like - to a degree. They are incapable of producing a "Blades" home shirt in my view. When you say a drop off from this season, the home shirt we've currently got is just awful, awful - got to say that twice! Why? A solid red or white back (from the season before) never looks good (nor solid sleeves), and of course, as we play in stripes it isn't a Blades shirt in my view. I dread to think what the back looks like.

I've got a refund due from the Spurs game and I was gonna spend it on a new kit, but if I do it won't be the home one and I've not bought one single Adidas shirt in protest to the awful home designs, although I'm not sure they have noticed haha!

The away one's much better as a shirt, really like salmon pink, but as others have said, it's a problem producing a pink kit for either Sheffield team, I'd have thought we'd have insisted to Adidas that we shouldn't have a pink kit for that reason, but maybe once the mickey taking's gone from Wednesday fans, who, lets face it, need something to banter about as what's on and off the pitch at Hillsborough isn't very clever these days to say the least, it'll be a nice Blades shirt to have. As it stands, I may just spend the refund money on a hoodie!

When I started supporting United in 1989 we were spoilt looking back with year, after year, of decent Blades shirts by Umbro. I'm not sure we'll ever go back to that, even if we got Umbro back again, it seems the norm for striped teams to have solid areas, usually to the sleeves and arms, but I do think Adidas could at least try a little harder to produce a striped blades shirt! I'm sure it can be done!

Its frustrating when you look at the Adidas solid colour shirts for say Man U and Leicester that look brilliant, and whilst there is usually different material or variations to design in parts of the shirt you don't notice on the solid shirts.

What's wrong with pink? That leaked one of ours is arguably better than the offerings from some of the biggest clubs in the world recently

Pros.
The sleeve trims on the home are lovely

Cons.
The rest of the home is wank
We live in a city whereby for as long as most of us can remember, both sets of rival fans call each other pigs
Therefore a pink kit in this city is the equivalent of an adolescent boy rocking up at school in a fucking tutu.
As a club who's home colours are predomenently red, is what is effectively a lighter shade of red the best option for an away kit?

As you can tell, my cons are not only more numerous, but significantly heavier as well. If this were a weighing scale it would have snapped in the middle.

Which troop of lunatics sits down and comes up with these, and does the meeting come before or after they sling shit at the walls and start swinging on tyres? Fuck me.

Got to agree that IMO all our best kits have been Umbro ones. Not sure if I am looking back with rose tinted specs, but the some of the Umbro home shirts were proper Blades kits.

I'd save your money full stop.

Photoshop job on the pink shirt. Sponsor logo plonked on a photo of a shirt.

I do not mind pink but we should have gone for a vivid pink like the Baca shirt above....might be the picture but the United one looks a bit washed out

Just here for the “this isn’t a Sheffield United kit” replies which has been every shirt since the Internet was invented, apparently.

Home kit reminds me of the 02/03 “Triple Assualt”shirt that I didn’t like when released, but it has grown on me.

Away shirt is decent enough, it’s a template but that’s what most clubs get on the away shirtgiven what happened with the purple away shirt of 17/18 I’d expect it to quietly disappear mid season in favour of a white or lime 3rd kit.

I’ve not really disliked any of the Adidas kits other than the 14/15 one with the bland template and massive boxy sponsor. 17/18 home one was probably the best.

None will ever be as iconic as the ones from the 90s by virtue of the fact we only wear them for one season rather than two.

Fan of both tbh especially the jacquard print on the away strip. Im just trying to find out who is wearing the away kit in that photograph from our players. 🤔 😂

I'm trying to figure out what he's carrying. Looks like a masturbation cup... Apparently 😒
