I don’t know what people expect from England. We played well, created some good chances, had a definite penalty not given, showed character to come from behind and ultimately deserved to win. What more can you want?

Unless we destroy the unfashionable no name teams, it’s a massive overreaction and as if we played terrible and were incredibly lucky to get through. Congo looked a solid team with players of lower Premier League/Championship standard. Whilst we should expect to beat them, they aren’t mugs either.

We didn’t play well we looked disorganised at the back wide players supply dreadful Rices corners laughable
It improved going forward when we had Saka on the right. Gordon came on
But defensively from midfield protection backwards to include Pickford ( almost that high up the pitch at times )

Whichever wingers start will play poorly, the hope is that whoever he brings on will do something and Kane can score again.

Mexico will actually attack us, we don’t play well in ‘attack v defence’ games, as proven thus far.

Still say we get to quarters and lose, the really good teams will be too good, but Mexico are like a Latin version of Croatia.

I only watched the first half live.
Sublime skills from Messi.
Unbelievable touch for the control and the finish matched it.
Watching the highlights this morning. Cape Verde’s two goals were terrific, especially the second one.
Now that’s a contest and that’s how a knockout match should be played

Watched about the first 20 minutes, didn't have it in me to watch the lot, but could see in that period just how composed Cape Verde were and suspected it wouldn't quite be the walkover the pundits had suggested it might be; great effort from Cape Verde
