Are you saying I shouldn't have an opinion because it may hurt someone's feelings? So if we get to Wembley you want us to lose just because you don't like wilder?
What a sad person you are What about the thousands going with their families and kids to see us try to win for the first time at Wembley after 100 years.
If we go up, I shall try to be abroad when we play Newcastle at home. Son-in-law is a lifelong Newcastle fan, and that 8-0 defeat was hard to sit through. He tried hard to be sympathetic, and in many ways that made it even worse. Football that uncompetitive is pointless (pun intended).Personally having another season like the last one would drive me up the wall....![]()
Won a play off final with Oxford at Wembley 3-1 against York City.As a matter of interest, and as my brain isn't working today, what's the best Wilder has done in a knock out competition, does anyone know?

He started itIt's looking pretty clear we're in the play offs bar some minor miracle.
So we all really need to stop the petty bickering for the sake of ours and the clubs sanity.
Stop the "this player isn't good enough"
Stop the "Wilder has lost the plot/dressing room"
As a club we've been in far worse positions than where we are now.
The manager and the players we have won't change until this season finishes.
And we as supporters can't change our allegiance.
We need to rise above our disappointment and Unite as supporters, like we have done many times over the years.
Wilder needs to rally the players
We as supporters need to rally each other.
UTB.
I'm not angry or upset. It has been a very poor week for United and Wilder, but there are good reasons for looking at the broader picture, and not feeling that the last 3 games have ruined our lives:
1. United have done much better this season than most of us expected, and finishing 3rd out of 24 would be no mean feat. Disappointing if promotion does not follow, but not a failure, given what was happening 12 months ago.
2. Talking of which, have a look at the Premier League table. The 3 promoted teams are heading for relegation. After 32 games Southampton have won just 2 and drawn 4. Ipswich, the most successful of the 3, are 14 points behind the 4th from bottom. There is a huge problem with the gulf between Premier League and Championship, and if we do go up, we will be at risk of again being uncompetitive in the PL. I feel more troubled by that gulf than by the thought of having 46 competitive games again in the Championship (though more entertaining football would be welcome).
Interesting, so he has got pedigree. My greatest concern with a two-leg play-off is that we'll go 1:0 in the away leg and then try and hold it and leave ourselves open to losing at home.Won a play off final with Oxford at Wembley 3-1 against York City.
Remember you were his most ardent supporter back in the miserable 20/21 season for a long while. Not a criticism just shows how far he’s fallen from grace in many of our eyes. Sad really.I hope we lose every game from now on so the poison little dwarf never steps foot in our club again.
Drew 1-1 away with Rushden and Diamonds won home leg 2-0 so didn't win both games.Interesting, so he has got pedigree. My greatest concern with a two-leg play-off is that we'll go 1:0 in the away leg and then try and hold it and leave ourselves open to losing at home.
But for now, the focus is just playing each game as a little mini cup final. Try and get some form. Actually attack teams and see what happens. rest anyone who is shattered. Get other players fitness up.
Then Scott Parker from hero to zero will get it like wilder , boring football, too defensive early on in season etc etc lolI would absolutely love us to go there and best Burnley in front of their own fans and if we turn up (players and fans) we can do just that.
Both them and Leeds will not take maximum points from the last 3 rounds of fixtures.
They are as edgy as us but have just about had enough quality to get the results this last few games.
There will be more twists and turns but worryingly our top performing players have suddenly lost their mojo for whatever reason.
Hold on tight cos it's not over yet!
Just to add the thoughts of an Oxford fan pundit;Drew 1-1 away with Rushden and Diamonds won home leg 2-0 so didn't win both games.
By way of comparison of the 6 managers going for the play off places Alex Neil at Wall has the best play off record winning all 3 of his finals with Hamilton Norwich and Sunderland. They are definitely a team I hope we avoid. CW is the only other to have won a final with his one and only attempt at Oxford. 3 of the other 4 Lampard, Manning and Carrick have all lost either a semi or final. Le Bris hasn't been in one yet.
Burnley let the Norwich striker in for two one v ones. Only poor execution from him saved them. Norwich were abject for a lot of that match, especially first half. But could have got something. Burnley we’re hanging on second half.I would absolutely love us to go there and best Burnley in front of their own fans and if we turn up (players and fans) we can do just that.

We’ll get battered Monday it will be embarrassingOn itv Monday, last time we were on there we won, could they bring us luck again
Still irks me that game. Second half was diabolical. Men who were emotionally drained after a harrowing week coming up empty. If we go up, I shall try to be abroad when we play Newcastle at home. We certainly were unlucky in the first half. Barnes got injured, and was replaced by Gordon, who was desperate to establish himself in their first team, which he did. The first 2 goals felt wrong, but were technically correct. In the first one, Gordon clearly handled the ball, but the ref saw it as unintentional, and as he didn’t score, the goal stood. Only Gordon knows whether it was deliberate or not, but it was at the very least convenient. The second goal was a VAR loophole; from the corner, Wes made a great save, tipping the ball over the bar. Because a corner resulted, there was no VAR, but if he had let the ball go in VAR would have disallowed it (for both handball and offside?). They scored from the resulting corner. And the third goal came from a poor decision, giving them a dubious freekick. At the same time, the defending from the corners and freekick was awful, as happened repeatedly that season. If we had lost 3-0 it would have felt unfair/unlucky; by the end of the game it could have been 10-0, and the poor defending was repeated through the season. To modify an old cliche, ‘The better you play, the luckier you get.’Still irks me that game. Second half was diabolical. Men who were emotionally drained after a harrowing week coming up empty.
But aside from the fact the game should have been postponed, it should have been 0-0 at half time. First goal handball, second goal handball gained the corner they scored from, third goal from a Fre kick that wasn’t a foul as Robinson cleared the ball, THEIR man was late and collided with Robbo’s non-kicking leg.
Had the decisions been made correctly that second half would never have occured the way it did. Game should have been binned anyway but that’s by the by.
If the game should have been binned or not I dont know. Regarding the first half after the first goal Gordon & co ripped us apart we got away lightly with 3-0 even if some were iffy second half could have been another 8 we got off lightlyStill irks me that game. I suspect the fans of 67 or 68 of the other EFL teams 'below' us also slate their team from time to time, even more so, with similar opinions. For similar reasons, yet all 69 would swap positions with us INSTANTLY RIGHT NOWWe’ll still be stuck with the same shitty, no-Plan B, grab-a-goal-and-hang-on-for-dear-life football though, won’t we?

Summed up very nicely! It wouldn’t be a ‘minor miracle’ it’d be a major, major one.
We’re all so angry because we have thrown away a full seasons hard work at the death. No-one knows why except maybe Wilder but IMO he bottled it at the same time as the players.
We’re allowed to be pissed off at yet another kick in the teeth. We had the season from hell last season and now we face the prospect of Burnley celebrating promotion in our faces next Monday after we’ve been in the top two most of the season and leading it at times, even after a two point deduction.
To throw it away like we have is unforgivable and we’ll all struggle to get up for the play-offs. Not just because we’ve dropped into them after bottling it but because of the many, many failures of the past when we’ve got there. I’d be surprised if we sold 10k tickets the way we’re feeling. That goes for the leg at the Lane or Wembley should we somehow get there.
As for the players not being good enough, they’ve proven they’re not. They haven’t got the mentality. I’ll not pick any one player out but let’s just say Wilder can’t be trusted with big money.
God knows what the new owners make of him. He’s becoming an embarrassment to the club, not something I would imagine they’ll be happy about. Their first mistake so far has been extending his contract. He’s not up to it, that is managing the type of club they want us to become.
He can’t handle money when he’s given it and he’s unprofessional, he also allows his players to be unprofessional. So far this season that’s cost us £250k.
He’s good at motivating at Championship level and lower but I would have zero confidence in us ever becoming a stable Premier League club under his stewardship. You need more than motivational skills at Premier League level.
It’s all moot anyway, we’ll not be in the Premier League next season and even if we were (we won’t be) I’d be disappointed if Wilder is still at Bramall Lane.
I agree that Leeds & Burnley will drop points in last 4 games - probably get 8 or 9 pts. However we will also drop points - no way we will win all 4.I would absolutely love us to go there and best Burnley in front of their own fans and if we turn up (players and fans) we can do just that.

You make some very valid points. It wouldn’t be a ‘minor miracle’ it’d be a major, major one.

Problem we have is I reckon next season will be a lot tougher….Ipswich, Southampton, Leicester & Birmingham all likely to go BIG to push for top 3.You make some very valid points.
I'm less inclined to levy too much criticism/blame at the players door(most anyway) but if the messages coming out of the pressers are mixed and unclear, why would it be any different in the dressing room.
I'm no tactician but the best teams succeed having players play to their strengths.
Why try to be clever when simplicity gets results.
We lack composure and look clueless too often and I wonder if that's due to poor direction.
It's not ability but psychology that hampers us.Are they fearful.
If so,where's the rallying cry on the pitch.
Not seeing it from captain dipstick.
More/some leadership could compensate for those lacking experience of such pressure where it matters most, and need in game management/support.
It's all too clear for some of us we don't have what it takes yet.
Another season in this division with capable leadership could benefit us I believe.
We now have better financial backing we've longed for.
Time to put it to good use and create the stability we crave.
I want entertainment then glory.
We've yet to achieve either this season bar the Cov game, seemingly.
I'll share your disappointment if we continue to look in the mirror where the windscreen provides the forward view.![]()
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be wishing for better.I suspect the fans of 67 or 68 of the other EFL teams 'below' us also slate their team from time to time, even more so, with similar opinions. For similar reasons, yet all 69 would swap positions with us INSTANTLY RIGHT NOW
Tha’s hit t’nail on t’head with that post. Summed up my feeling's exactly. That said, I’ll judge a manager solely on results and performances not his ability to act like a paragon of virtue. The former England manager for example seems a robotic goody two shoes. It wouldn’t be a ‘minor miracle’ it’d be a major, major one.
