One minor mistake. Swindon have 4 games left against the other top 7 teams, not 3.

However, to the current situation, and the run-in.

Around Christmas we were top with some "easy" games coming up, especially at home, and what did we do, lost the next three home games against mighty Hartlepool, Yeovil, and then Coventry. Last season we were in a strong position and threw away "easy" games.

Now I'm very much "an half EMPTY" man, and whilst I'm reasonably content with our current position, I'm not counting any chickens, and taking one game at a time.

Sorry to be so negative.

Still it's some great work, which I shall refer to during the rest of this season.

Its funny how everyone has bournemouth down and continuing to fail, that won't happen. We had a bad streak just like they are now only a few weeks ago and we turned it around. I think the fact Donny have Brentford away on the last day will cost them automatic promotion. I am confident we can improve at home and not lose a game not even the big ones. I think we will come unstuck away at either Walsall (again) or Crewe but i am sure we can afford one or two defeats. I like most think 85-88 points will win this league but i think you will need 84 points to go up 2nd. My prediction is

Swindon are the only one of the top six I can't make my mind up about. On paper they're good enough for a top two spot but they're so unsettled by managerial change and a player sale at the moment. I think it will ultimately cost them and they'll end up in the playoffs but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they made a late run for 2nd.

It looks like we were up a bit unlucky to come up against them at the wrong time...

It doesn`t guarantee us promotion, but it certainly a nice bonus on a midweek that we aren't playing in.

Relatively straight forward games for Brentford and Donny against teams with nowt to play for and not in good form. MK Dons have been shocking and Stevenage lost 5 on the bounce. We could be 4 points behind Donny and level with Brentford by the ....... oh hang on!!?? Just shows you cannot predict owt. Donny, top and excellent away from home get smashed by 3rd from bottom of the form league, mid table MK Dons. 2nd from bottom of the form league and mid table no hopers Stevenage turn over much fancied Brentford. Have it! Nice set of results. It brings home that owt could happen. As Olle has been saying all along, there will be lots of twists and turns and it will go all the way. There will be surprises and shock and trying to predict owt will be like trying to piss in a gale. With these results, plus Donny playing Bournemouth on Sat-di and Swindon having a tricky game against Walsall we need to back up these with a win at BDTBL on Sat-di.

I certainly haven't sat on the fence. I have been saying for months that Tranmere won't finish in the top two, even when they led us by 8 points - they won't.

I have also consistently said that Donny won't go up automatically, even now when they are top of the table. They won't.
