So derby away day is finally upon us and for most of us, excepting either the most confident or arrogant ;) it's going to feel like a very long day....

They've picked up recently under new manager Steve Bruce but it should be pointed out that most of those games were against sides are pretty miserable runs, and in the lower part of the table...

But to be honest, irrespective of League positions or current form, this is the Sheffield derby away leg, never going to be easy...

Anyway..

Any team news? :)

JOC and Baldock both recovered to play?

Basham integral to our preferred style and system?

The conundrum of which 2 (or 3) of Goldie, Dowell, Duffy and Madine?

With the extra allocation of tickets, we now have excellent numbers travelling, which will be a boost to our lads. Despite the nervousness of the occasion we shouldn't make any changes to how we play, particularly the way we usually start games. If we CAN get that early goal it could really set up a good win. However an early goal for them will not immediately make me feel it's over. I think we'll score, so they'll need 2 for the unthinkable to happen. All said and done hard to predict, and I'll go for a face saving 1-1 and 2 good results in the next home games...

Safe journey all. Be loud, be proud

UTB

Try have a nerve free day fellow blades. I'm having a pre match beer in a balmy 25 degrees here in Melbourne before dinner & bed. Alarm set for 6.30am so I'll miss the banter unfortunately! Going for 2 nil win. UTB
We had a barmy 18 degrees last week

I heard! Unfortunately ours has been a "low" of 25 with a humid high of 38 for past 5 days Shouldn't complain but it's been shite, just ask my balls.

A win......without suggesting that it will be anything other than a competitive, fierce, highly contested game, let me flip the coin used regularly by 'their' supporters and ask, who out of their first team would walk into ours? Can't say I'm qualified, or particularly bothered, to ask this question, but when you consider that Wilder has had to wheel and deal on budgets that other promotion chasing teams would be embarrassed by, we have a player like Cranie showing exactly why we're doing so well. We're where we are on merit, exactly the same with Wednesday and their position. All the what ifs become superfluous, it's how the teams are set up tonight.

Can anyone imagine that Wilder will do anything other than leave his team with a clear and focused view of what's expected tonight? I know that some of our supporters are not keen on these games, but for myself they represent everything that a supporter should look forward to, and based on what we're chasing, a win is vital, but not necessarily devastating if we draw, as we compete with the teams around us. If I was a player these are the games I'd want to be involved in, and we have some exceptional players more than equipped with what it will take to succeed tonight UTMB!!!

Reckon they’ll come out fast, last two home games they have been very good first half and then tailed off in the second.
If we can dictate the pace of the game early on we’ll be sound. UTB!!

Sorry to be a spoilsport but I've woke up with a bad feeling about tonight :(

Bring it on .... nervously excited now... forget any thoughts of concentrating at work today .. other more serious matters occupying my mind .. need a few beers as beta blockers .. didn’t the snooker player Bill Werbinic get beer on prescription.. that been the case I’m off to the quacks

C’mon Blades !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to being in the away end tonight, singing loud and proud, not nervous and shitting myself or pretending it's a bigger game for them than it is for us.

I'd get all the regulars back in. You don't fuck about with team selection for this one. Play your best team. For me that's...

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Norwood Fleck Stevens
McGoldrick
Sharp Madine

But I now feel that Wilder will start Dowell, and no one could argue with that. It's hard to predict how we'll line up, and that's a positive. Wednesday's line up is more predictable than ours here, so this could be an advantage.

I have complete faith that we'll perform. If we don't get a result Wednesday will have been very good or very lucky.

Prediction wise, I'd probably say 2-2, with them scoring first and us chasing the game.

I also think it will be a very good game - mainly because more than one team will dare to attack.

The first 20 minutes could be extremely important. A good start will shut them up and have them fearing a repeat of last time. And whoever scores first is unlikely to lose. I hope we do our usual thing and start on the front foot.

Just had a Wendy lad at work tell me about his dream last night..........SWFC 4-5 SUFC!!!

Fecking hoping so!!

We're having a great season, but they're in a honeymoon period with cabbage head, not sure why but I just feel like we could get done tonight (2-1). As much as i would be gutted with a loss, I'd be disappointed in equal measure that we had dropped 3 points.

What i'd mostly be fuming about is the sheer levels of deludamol overdosed pigs claiming that all of a sudden they're better because of 1 game.

I woke up with a bad feeling too. A cuppa and a speedy trip to the throne soon sorted that though :)

NO POINT WORRYING EITHER WAY

its just 1 of 12 games left
winning it puts us second but doesnt ensure tha place , lose we are still only one win off 2nd
its not insurmountable
in the big picture we worry too much about just one game

if the pigs win theyll be convinced they can make the play offs , which will bite them in the arse with the finish theyve got

There's a bloke at my work who claims someone has told him Sharp isn't starting - he seems convinced.

Hope that isn't the case

Okay now I'm getting nervous, at work but not here in spirit . Come on you Red and White Wizards ! We can do this!

I do think Wilder will spring a surprise.

Don't know what it will be.

With the number of games the pigs have against teams around us, if they make the playoffs then I reckon we’ll get automatic

Been told Egan hasn’t made it, Stearman will start.

Hoping it’s bollox

Just read on Blades Viewpoints that we’re going with the same line-up we started with at Hillsborough 11 years ago. Hope it’s not true, mainly because in playing an 11 ineligible players we’ll end up with quite a large points deduction, but In Wilder We Trust.
