For the first time ever I've taken each game one at a time so far this season giving barely any thought to the game after the upcoming one... up until now.

So I'm going to say I'd be really disappointed if we don't take 6 points from the next two games, I know I may be getting carried away after last nights result is one you could probably say has ended our blip (hopefully) anyway.

Despite avoiding a defeat last night we now find ourselves outside the Play Off places, I think we could well lose at Derby on New Year's Day so for me the next two are absolutely must win games that are almost pivotal to getting back into the Play Offs going into the JTW where then we can strengthen (if the club can get them over the line, as the clubs around us will be).

Sunderland have started getting positive results since Coleman was appointed but I'm slightly optimistic we can just edge them on the day (Donaldson to get a repeat brace?) We're desperate for our next win at home as we haven't done for almost two months since Sat 4th Nov with the 4-1 against Hull, I can't believe it's been that long.

Notlob have also been getting a couple of positive results here and there and beat 2nd place Cardiff yesterday but again I'd hope we can get the better of them especially at home, Fleck will be back which will be a major boost.

But despite both teams upturn in form they still find themselves sitting inside the relegation zone with Burton (the last time we got 3 points) above them. We've already beaten both teams away so there's the opportunity to do the double over them.

Think last night marked an upturn. Villa are playoff contenders themselves and we held them to a draw (which probably would have been a win if it weren't for the Villa flopping round like fish). We're finally adapting to life without Coutts and once Fleck and Brooks are back we should be firing on all cylinders.

Lets hope so as we have Derby and then the pigs after. Derby are looking very strong at the moment and a new manager could change things around in South Barnsley.

Apparently Sunderland were lucky to get a point against Birmingham yesterday, only scored through a defensive cock-up and didn't take advantage of playing against 10 men for the last 20 minutes. They may have picked up slightly but they're still not a very good team and we should win.

They'll both be very tough games against ugly, scrapping opponents. What we can't afford to do is keep on going behind (as has become such a habit recently).

Both clubs have improved massively from when we played them earlier in season. Above us in the form table too. Won’t be easy.

Yesterday did feel like a turning point though and l 6 points would be huge with Derby up afterwards who are flying. Need 6 from these two home games to keep up with the rest of the clubs around us.

Yesterday should be a turning point. We'll surely go and beat Sunderland off the back of it.

Got to be at least 4 points from these two games for us.
