The new players

Wilder and the players have to do it. Nothing at boardroom level should affect what's happening on the pitch. We can't sign anyone so we have to do with what we have. I can understand Wilders longer term concerns obviously but the players as things stand shouldn't be affected. The consistency is lacking throughout the squad. That's what's costing us.

Even our starting 11 isn’t strong enough to sustain a top 6 challenge.

Spot on.

Every single player has given the ball away - that's the feature of every game we've lost/drawn. Today was no different - as was Hull.

Evans is a huge upgrade on Lundstram and anyone who doesn't think so really is not watching closely.
Evans a huge upgrade on Lundstram!
Are you fucking kidding me

Lundstram is miles better than Evans. Evans cannot pass it forward. He just kept hooking it down the line to absolutely no one.

Leonard is here to provide cover for a few positions so that’s okay.

Holmes been injured

Wilson I’m not keen on

Lundstrum miles better than Evans? Fuck me, do you know anything about football?

Evans was the best midfielder in L1 when at Wigan. If you’re not happy with his addition then ask the Chairman why he didn't give Chris 3m to replace Coutts and another 5m to get a striker in.

Weren’t we going to spend in the Championship? We haven’t even spent the Maguire and Walker money in full, nevermind the owners investing.

Just expand on the Walker and Maquire money comment? You have zero clue how much we got.

If you know how much per week + loan fee we are spending on James Wilson you would shudder.

Holmes looked like a good signing. But he's hardly played (I know he's had a couple of injuries). Today was the ideal opportunity to play him in a creative role, but instead he's sat on the bench for 90 minutes. If he doesn't play today when does he?

Al these players, (with the exception of Holmes) are development players, that will hopefully progress at the club and increase in transfer value and value to the team. They are not the finished product and will frustrate as they develop. That's the market for wages and fees we're in -that isn't Wilder's fault.

Exactly this. Why spend a year tracking Holmes and Leonard if they aren't going to play, why fucking buy them. The money could have been better spent elsewhere.

We do seem to go for quantity rather than fewer with a bit more quality, no point having a huge mediocre squad when only 11 get onto the pitch.

I’m guessing you’ve not been to many games recently. Again Evans had no impact what so ever today. Defensively nothing attacking wise nothing.

Evans is a far better player than Lundstram. Hes not Paul Coutts ,that seems to be most peoples problem ,same faces every time we don't win. An away draw at an established championship club and our spoilt little attention seekers are throwing the dummy out. Listen to what the manager thinks that might give some clues.

I was about to write something similar, so thanks for beating me to it.

Funny how these guys always seem to find a player to pick on to try to justify their outrage.

I'm surprised Bill hadn't got pelters tonight - he's the usual target.

Evans x 2s turn today. Im tipping Bill for Tuesday.

Lundstram would get in the side every week if I were picking it. I probably know nowt abaht football either. Two good feet, a great range of passing, a good tackler and he puts a full shift in.
Evans has yet to impress me.
That also goes for the other Evans whom many on here were so desperate to get in the team.

The point about Holmes not playing is a valid one. You've got to wonder when he's going to get his next start.

The signings we made in January would have been outstanding signings the January previous in the League below.

We have taken a punt and only Evans has shown anything yet. Now we are not going down and unlikely to go up Holmes and Leonard need to be given a run so we can see if they are good enough to offer anything for next season, I am afraid we can’t leave it until October to decide as we need players good enough to start in August.

Trouble is, we do/did have a realistic chance of the play-offs, and I think experimenting with Holmes and Leonard would be a mistake.
I’ve posted before that I’ve watched Holmes at Charlton and I don’t think he’s as good as the options we already have. I was dissappointed when we eventually signed him, but would love to be proved wrong.

Wrong Lundstram was coming on nicely as a replacement for Coutts
Wilder would have been better employed bringing in a decent front man and a CH.
No he goes out and brings in 3 mediocre midfielders

I think Wilder see's Leonard as an own goal because he looks shit so far and out of his depth, Holmes had injury niggles and Duffy is superior.

Wilson is struggling and was a gamble probably born out of desperation.

Holmes is the only strange signing. He's knocking on 31 seems to be 3rd or 4th choice.

How many games has Leonard played?

You’d think that after writing players like Coutts and Freeman off so early some of our fans would have learnt by now

In defence of that repost I would say Coutts always had quality but not the fitness, Freeman had a season to remember but that was in league 1, jury still out in the championship. Leonard clearly has no finesse, just L1 grunt.

I can't for the life of me see why we signed Holmes he looks slow and no better than anyone we already had and at 31 he isn't going to get any better. Evans looks no better than Lundstram, Leonard looks lost and out of his depth top guy at Southend is a long way from holding down a place at championship level age is on his side though I guess. Wilson not impressed at all looks a show pony to me who offers nothing as a team player the ball bounces off him, couldn't trap a bag of dog shit.

Can I just ask you seriously how many times you have seen them play ?
