The new EEL song

Just wish we'd occasionally sing other songs as well. And not only 'Shoreham boys we are here'. We've got enough to choose from.

The Coutts one should catch on though... although right now I can't quite remember it.

Think we need to sing it while we can. Wolves are on brink if relegation places and certain to call him back in January. So we have him for 5 more games then we will need to sign a new centre back.

The thing I find quite comical with Wolves fans is
.....they rate EEL as an excellent league 1 defender and possibly even lower end Championship standard
So many have said that for a club with playoff ambitions like Wolves then he's DEFINITELY not good enough.
Basically the Wolves fans don't want him and say recalling him would be a sign of desperation.

Any Wolves fans seen the latest table?
Heard the saying beggars can't be chosers? Things ARE turning desperate for them.
Wolves could be playing in league 1 next season and EEL would be ideal to help get them promoted.

More song suggestions:

Moore, Moore, Moore
Billy the Pink
Johnny B. Fleck
Hallelujah Freeman!
(And they called it) Duffy Love
Born to be Wilder
Landell in the Wind
Bash it up
O'Connell, where's yer troosers?

.....or anything by Coutts & the Maytals

Wolves fans are right, he's nothing special and certainly nowhere near as good as some on here think he is. Come January I'm confident Wilder will be looking for someone better.

Not many great new songs out there but liked the Villa (Beautiful South) song last season:

We`ve been to Rotterdam and everywhere,
Liverpool and Rome,
And now we`re playing Rotherham,
Rotherham at home,
Rotherham at home!

I thought the Will Griggs one was good, but like many good songs it's become overused with only very minor lyrical changes most of the time.

We are fucking useless at creating or adopting songs. Not least for fear of singing something the "Pigs sing" even though they are only copying someone else. We need to stop the cap-doffing, forelock-tugging, Pig-conditioned mentality and sing and shout whatever the fuck we like...original or not.

Dreadful song.

Dreadful in 1986 and doesn't get any better.

Back to the drawing board lads. 1 on 10.

HH

Don't agree. Anything to change the tired old playlist is welcome!

Oh, and George Michael was, and continues to be, a class act. Listen to his live album with the L.S.O.

Wonderfully ' Bassettesque ' in character . I like it :)

We all had such a chuckle at this as did most around us - gotta keep a bit of humour in some of the chants. Shoreham Boys, whilst admirable, is a bit dull & hackneyed now......just sayin';)

I think they should know better than us mate - I really do. They've had him there since he was 9 years old and have seen him play many more times that we have. Unlike 99% of Blades, the jury is out for me on Ebanks-Landell.

First of all I'd say he's made a huge positive difference to our central defence - I wouldn't deny that for one minute. We had no one of that kind of stature and dominance before he came. I think he frightens attackers to death, just the look of him. I also think he's pretty good on the floor with the ball too. But, and it's a big but...I don't think he's dominant enough in the air, considering the size of the bloke. He was second best to Vaughan and Pope of Bury for most of that game when it came to winning the ball in the air. But he scored the winning goal and that's all some fans will recollect about his performance in that game. Looking at the video of that free kick of Charlton's yesterday - he never even got off the ground!

I think some fans are far too quick to bestow "hero status" on certain players. Ebanks-Landell is a big improvement on what we had before, because we had bugger all! But that doesn't make him a cult hero like some of you on here are trying to make him. I'm looking to see a big improvement from him, consistently winning the ball in the air and dominating in all matches, not losing his concentration and going awol like he did yesterday. If he can do that, I might even join in the silly songs about him. But if he can't then let's thank him for his efforts and get someone else in who can.

I want us to sign him permanently in January or the summer because I think he'd be a sensible investment, but I agree with that.

He should do better in the air defensively. He needs to learn the dark arts a bit, and learn to handle centre forwards in the way Maguire did. He could also improve his jumping. He should be able to improve these things, most of it will come with experience.

I hope we do get to sign him. Then we can sing something like this in the new year (tune of Status Quo's The Wanderer):

He came from the Wanderers
Now he’s one of us
His name is Ethan Ethan Ethan
Ebanks Lan-dell
